They shouldn't bother advertising the hardware and focus on the library. After previous failures, people are worried they will have little to play on AwesomeSauce Mobile and when they see the game ads they will know what the system is capable of. Unless you have a nice little gimmick like Nintendo to show off, I will just assume that the speed, graphics, etc., are 'mind blowing'. I do want an impressive battery but that makes for a boring demonstration.

The thing that worries me about Vita is that they've thrown literally everything they can at it. Front and back touch controls. Front and back camera. Dual analogue. Motion control. I'm frankly surprised they didn't try to make the screen 3D too.

You know, they make really easy to use custom firmware now and since they managed to figure out how to sign code a lot of homebrew runs on official firmware.

I think the same thing will happen with the VIta. At first , it will be difficult to jailbreak but then time will pass and it will be homebrew heaven again. By the way, I ran Cave Story on my PSP without custom firmware because it was a signed copy.

Now, I do hope the Vita will support the ISO format for PSP games because then I can just rip and transfer my PSP games onto it without having to rebuy them.

You just proved me right saying you want the same thing I have in my old PSP-3000.

I understand people that want stuff they don't need. I like useless gadgets too, which is the reason I bought a PSP in the first place (I found real use to it later, provided by indie devs).

I still don't get why people hang on to the old, OLD PSP when the 3000 line is much easier to mod without having to muck about with Pandora Batteries and Magic Memory sticks. All you do is run some CFW that stays on as long as you don't completely turn your PSP off i.e. you suspend it instead.

I just download the CFW package I need and run it once and I can run everything from an MP3 player with FLAC playback capabilities and run my games by storing them as ISOs.

I finally broke down and bought a PSP 3000 (stupid exclusives). CFW sounds attractive but I have no idea where to start. Are there any good information sites for newbies? Most of my googling indicates that PSPs with firmware later than 5.03 are unusable but that seems to be old information.

Just google 6.35 PRO-B CFW and you should be set. Best thing about that is that it's not permanent so there's no chance of bricking your system. Just make sure to not update past 6.35, if you do just google whatever software version ( 6.XX PRO-B CFW or whatever).

I prefer this method because it's easy and it runs everything without going through a bunch of hoops.
