Oh, man. I can't decide between buying now or waiting for a promo.
Now, my backlog is huuuuuuge, but this looks so damn interesting. Also I'm not sure how my PC will handle it since you guys have mentioned the unoptimized engine and whatnot.

I was on another website and it said NWN 2 does not run on 64 bit OS - does any1 know of an issue ?

It must run.. I have Winter 2 in some Steam. Usually in gog games anyway we should make those run in XP or some son of an administrator. =)

I just bought this and it occured to me it might be kind of bitch to play without all the maps/books/cards that it probably came with sitting right in front of me, ala NWN 1. Or am I totally wrong about this? It's not a big deal I was just curious and I can't actually download it till midnight so I'm sitting here thinking of stupid questions I can ask about it untill then.

Side Note: Anyone still have the cloth map NWN came with. I still have that frail son of bitch tucked away in an autographed Salughterhouse 5. I figured it was best to keep all my valuables together. :P

This definitely goes to the wishlist. I still have Baldur's Gate 2 and Icewind Dale 2 to play so I won't being playing this for a while.

I always loved treasure hunts as a kid! Imagine all the stuff you can find in this game...if you are on the hunt, this might be of interest...

doady: The Platinum Edition retail box was only $20 when it was released a year ago. I would have expected a digital download version of the game one year later to be $15 at most.
You can't compare digital with retail. I bought King's Bounty: Crossworlds GOTY for 6€ more than a year ago and it's on all digital stores for 20-25$. By the way this is not Platinum edition :) but Complete Edition.
That means one more expansion pack and bonus content like 3 complete soundtracks for example. I think that 20$ price is appropriate for this amount of content. And you can buy it now for only 15$ so where's the problem. :)

I personally think all digital products prices should "degrade" a certain amount every year to represent the real world market. The lack of downward pressure is my biggest complaint about DD.

Hey Gog Staff(Or anyone in a position to answer/get results to this issue) - Would it be possible to coax the original devs/creators of the game to release a patch to fix some of these issues like how Arx Fatalis got a patch after it was released on GOG? Or are there any unofficial/fan patches that address the slowness/inefficiency of the game engine? Just curious.

I'm sort of a mixed bag. I like it when a game tells me(Through NPC dialogue, journal entries, etc) some basic info about where I have to go/who I have to talk to/etc to advance or complete a quest/mission, but I don't usually like being told in more blatant ways(Quest arrows, etc.) To me it just ruins some of the challenge in playing the game.

Well that's usually what you get when starting most RPGs/expansions(In some cases they give you a boost in levels to compensate for tougher enemies/etc.). ;)

Compared to how slowly the game runs on some systems the camera issues are practically a non-issue.

Darkcloud: Woah the game still doesn't run well with AA on on my PC. The engine is really poorly optimized. On the other hand CPU usage is nearly non existent.
Using the tweak guide this user listed should help you get the game to run at a tolerable frame rate. :)
