Mask of the Betrayer, Storm of Zehir, and Mysteries of Westgate expansions included!

Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete, the ultimate edition of Obsidian's RPG set in the all time favorite Dungeons & Dragons setting, the Forgotten Realms, is now available 25% off on GOG.com. That's $14.99, this week only.

Ah, Forgotten Realms, after all the days we've spent treading your paths, you seem like home. Whenever the world around us seems oppressive and dark, whenever life gets us down--our mind escapes to your green fields, your rocky mountains, your lush forests. We cherish the memories of our bold ventures into your deep undergrounds, filled with dangerous beasts and traps, yet luring us with promise of great riches and unsurpassed power. We still tremble at the thought of the vengeful gods and goddesses that toy with the fates of your inhabitants, and the perplexing magic that fills you to the brim. We fondly remember the long evenings spent in the warmth and security of your many taverns and inns, where a single conversation could usher us into a new quest. Now comes the time to visit you once more.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete revisits many of the iconic locations known from previous D&D computer RPGs, and adds even more--all in a beautifully rendered environment. The game has been praised for faithfully executing the D&D 3.5 ruleset, delivering a captivating story and vivid characters, and vastly improving the visuals in comparison to its predecessor. With four full campaigns and adventure sets to embark upon, a set of tools to create your own adventures, and fully patched and ready to go, this is the version you just can't afford to miss!

Can you hear it now? Can you hear the rattling of D20 dice rolling? That's the sound of adventure! Tag along, get Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete, for only $14.99 until Thursday, January 31, at 10:59AM GMT.
I approve! It's been a while since GOG released an RPG.
Finally...

Vitek: This is not the GOG I sued to know.
Wait a minute, you sued GOG to get to know it? Wow, talk about evil customers!
Not Bard's Tale but wow!
I would just like to point out, that this a most requested game, that was released on GOG since the wishlist was created. NWN2 has 7005 votes as of today. It's almost 2k votes more than Alien Crossfire, that had ~5200 votes at the time of release.

Good job GOG!

gameon: My only concern is that i found Neverwinter Nights 1 to be a dull grind, so i have no interest in it's sequel.
The real strength of the Neverwinter Nights games are the third party mods, the expansions and the multiplayer. Both of them have pretty bad original quests but the expansions are much better and some of the third party mods are amazing.

Think of the original campaigns as demos for the toolkits.

I remember people telling me about the mods having better stories for the original game. I had no idea that the second is the same way.

So is there a particular mod that stands out? A definitive one that everyone else would have played? It'd be great to know, so that i may be able to get some enjoyment out of the game.
GOG, you know you just delayed my future playthrough of your other RPGs (except for NWN1) even further, don't you?
The game just made it into my "5 star only games" GOGmix :)

There are a lot less modules for NWN 2 than for NWN, because IIRC Obsidian was being Obsidian, and released the toolset in an incredibly buggy state. The situation's apparently improved, but mostly too late to fix most of the damage, and most NWN modders have given up on NWN 2.

Still I've played a few good NWN 2 modules, like Harp & Chrysanthemum or The WIzard's Apprentice

Absolutely right. If you add the votes for the individual expansions, this release is firmly in the +10,000 votes category. :)

I'm afraid it's been a long time since I last played them so I don't have any current recommendations other than to check out the Vault. However, Mask of the Betrayer is supposedly one of the best NWN expansions. I haven't got around to playing it yet but I've heard it's excellent and very reminiscent of Planescape: Torment.
Awesome news! I'm glad NWN 2 finally made it to the site. Yet another great release for fans of the genre.
