The cheesiest game you'll ever get addicted to!

MouseCraft, a sleek-looking fun puzzle game that's a lovechild of Tetris and Lemmings with a weird science theme, is available 20% off for Windows and Mac OS X, DRM-Free on GOG.com. That's only $11.99 for the first week!

Science! It makes the world move forward. And the cutting edge of science often operates on the verge of madness. Its the crazy people and their fantastic ideas contribute the most to civilization's progress. Here is a story of such a mad scientist and his revolutionary idea that could lead to ending the global energy crisis. Forget fossil fuels! Mouse-powered devices are the future. Sounds crazy? Well, you need to know that the person behind this concept is a Cat Scientist by the name of Schrödinger. Now, everything falls perfectly into place, just like well-handled tetris blocks!

MouseCraft answers the not-so-trivial question: what a cross between Tetris and Lemmings would look like? It's an A to B puzzle game where players help mice in their relentless quest for cheese by stacking the world's most famous blocks: Tetrominos. Starring: Mad Cat Scientist, Three Blind Mice and tons of irresistibly delicious Cheese. What we have here is a remix of two classic gameplay mechanics: pile up Tetromino bricks to create a safe path for as many mice as possible. With 80 increasingly challenging levels to beat, lots of block types to discover, and adorable animations to behold, this refreshing puzzle title will keep you entertained for hours!

If you're missing the times when puzzle games were big on the PC, and you'd love to see one bringing some neat gameplay concepts along with great-looking graphics, make sure not to miss MouseCraft, for only $11.99 on GOG.com. The 20% off special release discount offer lasts until Tuesday, July 15, at 1:59AM GMT.

IAmSinistar: How about I post a picture of one of my favourite ties?
Is that really a tie you have? That thing is WAY cool. Wish I had that bad boy when I still had a job.

Yes, it was an Xmas present from a co-worker like, damn, 15 years ago? Anyway, glad you like it!

EDIT: Just checked my LinkedIn page, it was more like 20 years ago. Why didn't you people tell me I'm getting so old? And where's my pudding?

Okay, the real question everyone should be asking is:

"When is Lemmings coming to GOG?" :-)

Awesome game. And...in fact, the first PC game I ever purchased.

*lapses into nostalgia*

Pheace: From the way he said it, it sounds like GOG may be asking them to sell people *either* a Steam key *or* a GOG key.

This would be a difficult thing to convince Developers of, especially when a lot of places sell both a Steam key *and* a DRM-free version.
Well, they can always offer the "either ... or" option (I can't remember who the devs is that did exactly this), and let folks decide for themselves - to those that want it "all", GOG will look "bad" and they'll go for the option that also offers them a Steam key, but those wanting the game on GOG (and don't care about Steam) will at least have the option.

If we keep expressing our preference for GOG and explain the reasons, then it would gorw more "natural" to devs to comply when it's release time.

Understandable. But at least for the moment I can see why devs would prefer their customers to have a Steam key, or at least have it accessible, since the Steam version is the one with autoupdating. That way, even if the DRM-free version is having problems, delays they can tell people to use the Steam version for an updated game for the time being (a copout answer in a way of course, but a problem solver nonetheless).

It's just a cop-out, no real problem solver - folks going the strictly standalone_DRM-free_installers route (whether on GOG or elsewhere), don't and won't use Steam. Not to mention that if a dev claims to also offer a DRM-free version, he has the obligation to maintain it the same way he does the Steam one.

Well it's both. At least for the devs, they've sold you a working, fully up to date version of the game as well in that case. Just because you're not inclined to use that version, that's another matter, but you do have it and have access to it at the time (assuming there's delays problems with the drm-free version). That's a whole lot better than having a customer who has no access at all to it.

It's moving the problem from the dev to the customer (in a cop out way). Of course, this would only be used in cases where there are problems and it's still assumed they would fix/update the DRM-free version to the same level as the auto-updated one. But at least for the devs they can point to the working one, one they know you have access to.
Haven't heard back from the mouse techs yet about progress on disbursing the GOG keys, but hopefully will have something to report soon. If anyone else got their GOG key transfer, please let us know.
While I appreciate this being on GOG and have wish-listed it for now, I'm afraid Sony got my money first on this one: MouseCraft is cross-buy AND cross-save on PS4/PS3/Vita (buy it once and play on all three consoles, and continue on each from where you left off). That is just great value if you have a Vita to play on the go. Have to thank the devs for doing that.

Does it require some kind of action or do all previous purchasers automagically get a key?

I'm not sure yet, hopefully I can provide a clear answer when the process finishes. I'll ask the dev at that time what other folks who prefer a GOG key should do as well. Possibly GOG will be posting instructions too. Whatever the case, I'll do my best to let you all know how it works.
Watch this space. :)
Hey guys!

Firstly - sorry for getting back to you with such a delay. Launching the game on so many platforms requires much work even after pushing the magic "publish" button. Don't even get me started on the things that went wrong and that we had to fix after the release ;). We are a very small, 3-people studio and sometimes it's really hard to get everything done in time.

Secondly - the whole thing was just a misunderstanding. We will happily give the codes to all those who supported our game before it was released. So, if you backed our alpha-funding campaign please send me an email on: tom@crunchingkoalas.com .

Hope you're gonna enjoy the game or you're already doing it ;).

Cheers,
Tom
