Matruchus: Damn did not know about this but I'm spent out now after buying the Anomaly bundle and pledging for Hegemony game on kickstarter. On the wishlist for now.
I'll pick this up some time later too. Hmm I haven't been paying attention to kickstarter lately didn't know about the Hegemony game there https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/longbowgames/hegemony-iii-clash-of-the-ancients I'll have to think about it. Christmas is always a drain on my finances.

Can I know your thoughts of the previous Hegemony games? I check the reviews and some give it a high score and some give it a low score. Mostly are due to bugs as their are using their own game engine. If your past experience bugs free?

I had been on the fence in backing this kickstarter, but the buggy release scares me. Do they work till the game is polish until they start their kickstarter?

Well I can tell you for Hegemony Phillip of Macedon which they upgraded to any of their user (on their website for a week or so free off charge) to Gold that my experience was more or less bugg free so without game breaking stuff - no crashes on release and such stuff. There might have been some minor stuff but the developers support their games for long time. I think that for gold they were supporting it and pushing different patches till the end of 2013 (mostly balance stuff).

Regarding to this kickstarter I can only say that they are going to use the same engine as for Hegemony Rome which means that most problems that were in that game in early access have been ironed out. The games will also mostly share the code so that even by working in Hegemony 3 they will be patching Hegemony Rome up if there are some issues to be found. Otherweise they were forced to release the game sooner then they liked cause they had to meet the publishers deadline. That's also probably one of the reasons why they wan't to go totally the indie way so they aren't bound to any fixed deadlines and have to release the game too early. They are also very hellpful if you have any problems you can just email them and they will help you in a day or so. I had once an issue that I couldn't download the new version of the game and they sent me a download link from their ftp server and that was it. Otherweise I never had any problems with their game.

Yeah well if this makes it any better - your credit card should be charged in january if you decide to pledge for the game since the kickstarter ends in january :)

Might be a stupid question, sorry in advance.

Is it a standalone or does it need an installed copy of Warband to work? I have bought Warband on Steam quite a while ago. Should I buy it again on Gog in order to make Viking Conquest work if it is not a standalone?

Sorry again, thanks in advance for the answers. :)

It's not standalone. You would need to buy Warband here to make it work.

You can actually find out what the cd key is in your steam version. When you have done that you can download the Warband installer from Taleworlds website. This means that you do not need to use steam even if you bought the game there.

Don't know if the DLC is standalone though. Just thought I'd drop this knowledge here.
WARNING :Please don't buy this total scam.

I once played a quite early version of the Brythenwalda mod for Mount and Blade Warband and since they put the mod-teams name on this product, I expected this to be a version of the mod, improved by the teamwork of a mod team and the original developer. You can't be more wrong.
This product is just made to rip some money out of us stupid fans of the M&B series. They milk me like a cow, and for that I more and more hate this scum. Dare them fucking up M&B 2.

The game is totally broken and unplayable. I could list all the bugs and technical issues, but others already did that and the steam reviews are a good source too.
If you want to play Mount and Blade in that area and time-period, get the newest version of the original Brytenwalda mod (e.g. the "refined" edition avaliable on the steam workshop for Warband) and have a shitload of fun with it. Nearly every aspect of this product is found in the Mod but less buggy, plus some features not even touched by the product. Further it's a mod for Warband, so you can add more smaller warband mods with little afford.

Have fun playing the mod and please avoid this game entirely. Don't feed the scammers.
All the reviews, say this DLC is garbage. That is too bad. So much potential... It would be an epic experience, to smash through a fearsome shield wall and drive the Viking horde back to the sea...in the name of Monkeydom. Because the Vikings were some of the greatest warriors in history.

On the bright side, there is the Napoleonic Wars DLC.
