Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest, the classic World War II first person perspective shooter with both extensions: Spearhead and Breakthrough, is now available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

There are some memorable moments in the history of computer games. Among them, the Allied forces' landing on the Omaha Beach, depicted in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, remains one of the strongest and most realistic. As an American infantry veteran, Mike Powell, you land on the sandy shore of Normandy to witness a massacre among your fellow troops. The continuous fire of MG 42's cutting through people like hot knife through butter, making it impossible to capture the enemy bunkers. In that deadly chaos, with a Bangalore pipe-bomb clutched tightly in your hand, you make your way towards the far end of German fortifications. The lives of the many, and the success of the entire offensive, literally lies in your hands. That's only one of the many dramatic highlights of this game.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest takes you to the fronts of World War II and let's you take part in some of the allied forces most crucial operations. The game became famous for creating a believable and suggestive image of battle conditions with a real infantry soldier in the role of the game's hero. The War Chest edition includes the original campaign that will take you from German bases in Algiers, through the D-Day landing in Normandy, to the occupied France, and both Spearhead and Breakthrough expansions. With hundreds of carefully scripted events to intensify the action, realistic setting, historic missions, and excellent voice acting (including Gary Oldman as the protagonist of Spearhead), this game will take you on a cinematic, action-packed adventure of a lifetime!

Experience the World War II in its hours of horror and moments of glory in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest, the critically acclaimed FPS classic, for only $9.99! Do you have what it takes to make Ike proud, soldier?

jefequeso: Ehh... anyone have a particularly compelling reason to get this? On the surface it just looks like "ye olde cinematic shooter." But if there's more to it, I'd like to see.
nostalgia and the D-DAY mission was amazing for its time

F4LL0UT: Not sure. I think I actually prefer Airborne over Allied Assault.
I like Airborne. It's a neat mix of different ideologies that work together pretty well (part sandbox, part arcadey, part tactical). And even though the guns all sound like they're shooting paperclips, the overall sound work is really incredible.

You mean, despite the fact there was nothing around at the time like it. Looking at things from that point of view you won't find much interesting games.
Thank you based GOG! I have been waiting for an FPS for far too long!

I do look at things from that perspective, and yet I still manage to find countless interesting games. But in this case, I don't see any reason to spend my money on a game that pioneered a style I dislike. So if its just known for its "ooh, cinematic"-ness, I think I'll pass.

Well look at it this way, GOG is lacking a lot of good FPS all we have is Arma, Far Cry, Unreal, Serious Sam, and Rainbow Six/Ghost Recon. Now we got another GOOD Fps.
Impressive release!

Looking forward to even more to come.

Also, you missed SWAT 3. And Blood. And Duke Nukem 3d. And Rise of the Triad.

You're making me sad, Elmofongo :(

I know they are here I just don't want to write so much :)
Have they given up on Macs already?
Ooooh these might work on my laptop. Will buy this on payday in a week, $10 is a lot to me here sadly.

Looking forward to it!

Honestly this game was probably the beginning of the end for good FPSes but it's still awesome.
