Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest, the classic World War II first person perspective shooter with both extensions: Spearhead and Breakthrough, is now available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

There are some memorable moments in the history of computer games. Among them, the Allied forces' landing on the Omaha Beach, depicted in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, remains one of the strongest and most realistic. As an American infantry veteran, Mike Powell, you land on the sandy shore of Normandy to witness a massacre among your fellow troops. The continuous fire of MG 42's cutting through people like hot knife through butter, making it impossible to capture the enemy bunkers. In that deadly chaos, with a Bangalore pipe-bomb clutched tightly in your hand, you make your way towards the far end of German fortifications. The lives of the many, and the success of the entire offensive, literally lies in your hands. That's only one of the many dramatic highlights of this game.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest takes you to the fronts of World War II and let's you take part in some of the allied forces most crucial operations. The game became famous for creating a believable and suggestive image of battle conditions with a real infantry soldier in the role of the game's hero. The War Chest edition includes the original campaign that will take you from German bases in Algiers, through the D-Day landing in Normandy, to the occupied France, and both Spearhead and Breakthrough expansions. With hundreds of carefully scripted events to intensify the action, realistic setting, historic missions, and excellent voice acting (including Gary Oldman as the protagonist of Spearhead), this game will take you on a cinematic, action-packed adventure of a lifetime!

Experience the World War II in its hours of horror and moments of glory in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest, the critically acclaimed FPS classic, for only $9.99! Do you have what it takes to make Ike proud, soldier?

Telika: Could someone sum up the differences between MoH and CoD (1, 2) ?
avatar
jamyskis: Honestly? Practically none.
Yeah, it's sort of like six of one, half dozen of the other - especially since the team who did MoH:AA left EALA to form the original Infinity Ward group, and made CoD.
avatar
Roman5: However...I'm a bit confused as to why the original MOH games weren't released first, are they going to come here at a later date or what?
avatar
grviper: How many Playstation games has gog released so far?
Sorry, I forgot that the first game was a PS exclusive, thought it had a PC port
Before CoD, the former Infinity Ward guys who made Call of Duty 1, 2..., they made Medal of Honor Allied Assault.

Very nice, old AAAA-titles! I hope to see the early Call of Duty games here at some point (Activision is already on board).

Too bad I have these games twice on retail already, due to accidentally buying this same MoH Warchest on retail, and also the MoH 10th Anniversary collection:

But maybe I'll get the GOG versions from some sales, let's see...

rampancy: Kick-ass. I shelled out for the Warchest Mac port way back in the day, and I loved it on my old dual-G4. Sadly, it doesn't seem to work in WINE right now (problems range from mouse control to crashing), but that just means that GOG won't be getting my $9.99 on this game...today. :)
icculus did a decent Linux port of the game though. Haven't tried it in a while and I believe the Loki installer requires the original retail disc. Not sure if source code was available to do a Mac port or whether it was a behind-the-scenes job.
Loved these games back in the day. Can't believe how (relatively) rough they look compared to how my minds-eye remembers them. Happy to see the box here, expansion packs and all!
own its retail box, great games.

Oh, ok. Thanks. I had heard that MoH was a bit more arcade-y, and CoD a bit more (cough cough) serious-ish. But I wasn't understanding what it was implying in practice, and "nothing" is a possible answer.

Also, isn't MoH supposed to have a gorgeous soundtrack ? I think a friend of mine used to be a fan of it, and had made me listen to tracks he adored (but that I found too close to William's "Duel of the Fates"). Is it that one ?

When the first COD game comes here, which I know will happen eventually

Knowing Activision, you can bet your potatoes that it's going to be overpriced like FUCK, just like the steam version

The first game on steam with the expansion, costs 40 Euros

40

FUCKING 40 EUROS
I do think the original sims 1 and all expansions will be released here soon for about 14.99 to 19.99. Why I think they will price it that much is due to the amount of expansions Sims 1 had. Although EA may surprise us and charge only 9.99

I'm glad that expansions are included in this case, EA has a bad reputation of being the "Expansions missing, sorry about that" Publisher here on GOG

The retail version also included the expansions.

It will be interesting to see what the first Sims game will cost when it comes to GOG, considering that this series has a bazillion expansion packs
Kewl game, never expected this. :)
