Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest, the classic World War II first person perspective shooter with both extensions: Spearhead and Breakthrough, is now available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

There are some memorable moments in the history of computer games. Among them, the Allied forces' landing on the Omaha Beach, depicted in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, remains one of the strongest and most realistic. As an American infantry veteran, Mike Powell, you land on the sandy shore of Normandy to witness a massacre among your fellow troops. The continuous fire of MG 42's cutting through people like hot knife through butter, making it impossible to capture the enemy bunkers. In that deadly chaos, with a Bangalore pipe-bomb clutched tightly in your hand, you make your way towards the far end of German fortifications. The lives of the many, and the success of the entire offensive, literally lies in your hands. That's only one of the many dramatic highlights of this game.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest takes you to the fronts of World War II and let's you take part in some of the allied forces most crucial operations. The game became famous for creating a believable and suggestive image of battle conditions with a real infantry soldier in the role of the game's hero. The War Chest edition includes the original campaign that will take you from German bases in Algiers, through the D-Day landing in Normandy, to the occupied France, and both Spearhead and Breakthrough expansions. With hundreds of carefully scripted events to intensify the action, realistic setting, historic missions, and excellent voice acting (including Gary Oldman as the protagonist of Spearhead), this game will take you on a cinematic, action-packed adventure of a lifetime!

Experience the World War II in its hours of horror and moments of glory in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest, the critically acclaimed FPS classic, for only $9.99! Do you have what it takes to make Ike proud, soldier?

Reviewgamesh: This was a great game, luckily released before a glut of WWII shooters killed my interest in the genre.Still, considering it's October, I would have rather seen Clive Barker's Undying or something...
Oh yes, I would very much like to see Undying released here. American McGee's Alice would be nice too, though it's on Origin only as a bonus with Alice Madness Returns last I heard so I have doubts that it will ever come to GOG.
Oh my goodness! Played these throughout my life and wanted to get rid of the barely working CD's and migrate to DRM free version. If I wasn't already buying games off you today GoG, I'd get this!

A brilliant, awesomely designed FPS, with THAT sniper level. The game can be bloody hard at times as well.

Oh, and that menu music!!
Funny, this is the first Call of Duty game made, and it is called Medal of Honor :-)
Folks that made this (fantastic, for its time) shooter left and formed Infinity Ward, and make MoH 2 called Call of Duty :-)

haydenaurion: Huh, and here I thought we would only see the newer EA games released on Origin. Well now this makes me wonder what EA games will come to GOG in what is apparently a new wave of EA releases.
Well I'm hoping that the older ones will be released first (naturally). Then new NEW ones could be released on here. MoH:AA isn't particularly new, imo. (originally 2002)

dirtyharry50: Sweet! i am so happy to see this here. Sorry to hear about the multiplayer not having keys because it is so fun. Fortunately, I have a retail CD with key for the original game so I can use that key.

I expect this will run very nicely in Windows XP VM using Parallels on my Mac but if not, I'll bootcamp for this one.

I was sad not to see a Mac release on the first day after the big announcement last week but oh, well. You can't have everything. I am very, very happy this excellent game is available now on GOG with the expansions I never got to play. I loved the original and will enjoy replaying it again.
The problem is that Aspyr's port of MoH:AA was a PPC-only app; IIRC I don't think they patched it to be a Universal Binary, and who knows if GOG will ever get access to the source (or if it'd even be feasible to develop a UB patch fot it). If they ever get CoD though, there's some probability that they'll include Aspyr's Mac port, since it did get patched for Intel compatibility (assuming that Activision owns the rights to the original port and will give them to GOG).

And I stand corrected on my original post; 2015 was indeed MoH's original developer (but they did so as an internal studio of EA, I think); I think EALA did one of the expansions.

SpaceManThe: Have they given up on Macs already?

jamyskis: Are we going to have to read this every time a game comes out for Windows only now?
I think you have me mixed up with somebody else, it's the first time i asked.

OneFodderUnit: Why is EA not including CD keys? I'm pretty sure you need one to play online and that is very important for this game because it's actually still active. It's been a few years since I played this online and I would buy it right now if this copy had a proper key.

Tpiom: It appears MP is dead...

"Multiplayer notice: The game's multiplayer servers are no longer supported by the publisher and the only option available is LAN (no CD-key required)."
I just checked on my friends' installation. It's still alive although the in game server browser can't find many servers anymore that are worth anything. I had to use the server list on gametracker's site but I found alot of good games going on. I'm a bit surprised actually. Looks like just as many games as there were are few years ago. The question I have is can GOG's version actually connect to these servers.

I hope this release means we wil see other EA games from the same period (beginning of the years 2000), like Clive Barker's Undying
The granddaddy of WW2 FPS games (well, besides Wolfenstein). Great memories of the original on PS One, great memories of this back in the early 2000s. Excellent game, and for my money, a bit better than Call of Duty.
If the soundtrack sounds somewhat familiar, that's because the game soundtrack composer, Michael Giacchino, has quite an impressive resume of music for films, games, and TV shows.

No, but someone else already has. Unfortunately, a lot of people simply don't understand that not every classic game GOG releases, or will release, will have an accompanying up-to-date Mac port. The Mac port of MOHAA is a good example of this. Furthermore, they don't have access to the game's source in many cases, so they can't do any porting themselves.

So to say that they've "given up" isn't true at all. GOG has announced that they'll be releasing Mac titles, not that they've somehow invented a way to conjure up an optimized Mac OS X universal binary out of thin air for a game released in 1993 by a long-dead company.

Agreed. That and some of the games still missing from EA franchises already on GOG are what Id like to see the most from their catalogue.
Allied Assault is the original MoH for PC. You're thinking of the actual original MoH, which was for PS One.

Roman5: Well now...this is certainly a very pleasant surprise

EA still has a larger than life backlog with tons of games that have to be here

Hope to see more FPS and actions games here in the future

However...I'm a bit confused as to why the original MOH games weren't released first, are they going to come here at a later date or what?
Raven Shield and its expansions were the best of the series anyway. Anyone saying the first two games were better is talking out of nostalgia. Although, being able to deploy a 4th team is neat, but ultimately pointless when you can stack 3 teams already. It would be great to have RS3 here on GOG I agree, but they can be had for chump change on Steam (sans Iron Wrath, which afaik is still being hosted on Fileplanet).

Fred_DM: why not?

Rogue Spear doesn't work with modern ATI cards. i can't get it to work, and it was removed from Steam after having made a brief appearance.

Elmofongo: oh well than I prefer 3 the most and please have it complete with iron wrath and athena sword expansions

True, but it is interesting to see another "not quite as old" non DOS EA release here.
