History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest, the classic World War II first person perspective shooter with both extensions: Spearhead and Breakthrough, is now available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

There are some memorable moments in the history of computer games. Among them, the Allied forces' landing on the Omaha Beach, depicted in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, remains one of the strongest and most realistic. As an American infantry veteran, Mike Powell, you land on the sandy shore of Normandy to witness a massacre among your fellow troops. The continuous fire of MG 42's cutting through people like hot knife through butter, making it impossible to capture the enemy bunkers. In that deadly chaos, with a Bangalore pipe-bomb clutched tightly in your hand, you make your way towards the far end of German fortifications. The lives of the many, and the success of the entire offensive, literally lies in your hands. That's only one of the many dramatic highlights of this game.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest takes you to the fronts of World War II and let's you take part in some of the allied forces most crucial operations. The game became famous for creating a believable and suggestive image of battle conditions with a real infantry soldier in the role of the game's hero. The War Chest edition includes the original campaign that will take you from German bases in Algiers, through the D-Day landing in Normandy, to the occupied France, and both Spearhead and Breakthrough expansions. With hundreds of carefully scripted events to intensify the action, realistic setting, historic missions, and excellent voice acting (including Gary Oldman as the protagonist of Spearhead), this game will take you on a cinematic, action-packed adventure of a lifetime!

Experience the World War II in its hours of horror and moments of glory in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest, the critically acclaimed FPS classic, for only $9.99! Do you have what it takes to make Ike proud, soldier?

Xoanon: Great Release, I already own it all but it will go in my wishlist for now. I remember that Breakthrough had a bug on release that caused enemies to very rarely ammo when killed, I wonder if that has been fixed.

Reviewgamesh: I would have rather seen Clive Barker's Undying or something...
avatar
Xoanon: Maybe that will be released Thursday...I hope.
That would be amazing. I always had problems getting that game to run reliably (I think it was sound-related) and so never actually got to play it.

Protoss: We would like to know, if any historian knows, if it is true that American soldiers did a lot of friendly fire on Omaha Beach.
All I will say is...consider the Afghanistan war thereafter...every country is guilty of something.

On Topic, I have the boxed versions somewhere...

Experience the "horror" of WWII with a T-rated first-person shooter? No thanks.
What a surprise! I can't believe this is here. One of the best war games ever created.

Brothers in Arms and Red Orchestra is the game for you than.
Why is EA not including CD keys? I'm pretty sure you need one to play online and that is very important for this game because it's actually still active. It's been a few years since I played this online and I would buy it right now if this copy had a proper key.
So what are the chances EA will release Battlefield 1942, Vietnam, 2, and 2142 here in GOG?

This game isn't exactly realistic, but if you like FPS games, then I warmly recommend it, as it is really good.

Mmm, that would be very nice indeed.
You people are not discussing which videogame (!) would make you "experience the horrors of ww2" in all seriousness, right ?
Back when not every single shooter in the market was WWII or Vietnam, Medal of Honor was one of my favorites, I played like hell in a friend's house. Great release.
Hm, I got these three and Pacific Assault and Airborne in that cool 10th Anniversary pack a few years ago for the same price. Allied Assault I thought was ok, but at the end I ended up doing a bit of cheating to finish, and the D-Day level sucked. Breakthrough was ok, but the ending was a bit of a disappointment, and holy shit Spearhead was terrible. I got to the point where you had to defend two places at once and no matter what I did I would fail, either getting shot, or when I god-moded it, failing every other possible way because I couldn't defend two spots at once and the AI was terrible at defending.
Pacific Assault was ok on easy and I loved the hell out of Airborne though.

It appears MP is dead...

"Multiplayer notice: The game's multiplayer servers are no longer supported by the publisher and the only option available is LAN (no CD-key required)."
Huh, and here I thought we would only see the newer EA games released on Origin. Well now this makes me wonder what EA games will come to GOG in what is apparently a new wave of EA releases.
I remember the MP years ago was really hit or miss with level design. Some maps were just terrible. Sadly IW never improved with the COD series and their map design. Could be my tastes.
