summitus: I just had a quick 15 minutes , and I think I'm totally hooked already ! Takes me back to when I spent hundreds of hours playing games like Eye of the Beholder , Dungeon Master , Knightmare etc .. If my first 15 mins is anything to go by I think it will turn into 15 hours pretty damn quick :)
How could you possibly pause after 15 minutes to go type something?? Man, I was there for like 5 hours hooked. Break now though, I'm starving.
Been playing in old school mode, loving it! A++
The creatures are pretty nice looking, I like the mushroom things, and the skeleton soldiers.

I wish it had a "random" mode where the dungeons were randomly generated instead of this set layout that punishes you early on for not going with stock character builds. I tried to make a Ice magic based insectoid and have yet to get a spell for him (although haven't gotten past the second floor yet, still sucks to have one of my party members relegated to pack mule.

You don't have to find the spells as all the scrolls do is show you what combination of runes make what spell with a little time and patience(and the proper skill level) you can normally discover the spells yourself for example most level 1 spells need one rune and I know the rune at the top left is for the level 1 fire spell

Anyone asking about the shrinking file size: the size we had posted before the download was available was the uncompressed download size. The smaller number is what is shrinks down to when compressed with eldtrich magicks. You're not missing anything, don't worry. :)

From what I remember from Totalbiscuit's Video there's some kind of blue glowing stone on each level that allows you to resurrect members.
Its a tough game but I am enjoying it and i am glad your not guided by the hand like some rpgs these days you have to work on your team and skills and stats do matter.

Although havent got very far and been killed off by a skellie or 2 i just need to tinker about with my characters some more.

Exactly what it seems. Put your memories of EOB, Dungeon Master, Anvil of Dawn, Stonekeep and Lands of Lore together. Mix them. Add Arx Fatalis-like atmosphere, and there you go. It was a surprise when i was right clicking in the weapon and the characters attacked, just like in EOB. It's like that.

Ah yes! Indeed, thanks. I believed those blue revolving stones were just for healing.
First impressions are great. Too bad I won't have time to play more of it until Monday or so; I'm itching to go back to the dungeon. (And I didn't actually like Dungeon Master that much.)

It does exactly what it has set out to do, and does it extremely well. If anyone is on the fence, buy it. The three hours or so I've played of it have been worth the asking price already.

Skunk: My computer has a 3.2GHz Pentium 4 processor, Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS 512MB AGP video card, 2GB of DDR ram, and Windows XP Pro SP3. If you're a good old gamer like me, and you've yet to upgrade to a system with multiple cores, DDR2+ ram, PCI-e video, or a 64-bit operating system, you should still be able to enjoy this game just fine.
I got Intel Pentium M with 512 Mb of RAM and Intel 915 graphics card (shared graphics memory with RAM). :) Do not think Grimrock will run on my laptop. :)
