The anti-hero with a symbiotic blade returns with a vengeance.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/legacy_of_kain_soul_reaver_2]Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2, fallen vampire’s personal vendetta turned into a video game, is available on GOG.com right now for $5.99.

Just two months ago GOG.com released Soul Reaver and you had a chance to meet Raziel, a vampire-turned-wraith reanimated in the Spectral Realm by The Elder God in order to kill Kain. Well, the fight is not over as Raziel needs to go back through time and continue his quest to destroy the almighty vampiric lord. Soul Reaver 2 picks up at the moment Soul Reaver left off--you’ve chased down Kain to kill him, he’s gone through some sort of time portal. And now it’s time to settle the score. However cliche the story might seem, Soul Reaver 2, even though it’s a combat-focused third-person action adventure, offers a brilliantly written and very intelligent gothic story. The characters, interactions, and tension between them are deep and provide very satisfying interludes between the bread and butter of the game, which is devouring Raziel’s enemies as he makes his way to a reckoning with his creator.

With a great story, beautiful graphics, and a lot of puzzle / platforming elements, Soul Reaver 2 is something more than your usual action-oriented romp. Drift away and kill some extra-dimensional demons in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 for just $5.99 on GOG.com.
Also waiting on Blood Omen so I can start the series from the beginning.

F4LL0UT: would occasionally be unable to move although all the animations, dialogue and music were playing.
I had this problem too but there was a fix for that, though I don't remember right now what it was... but I had two whole playthroughs of the first blood omen on my windows xp, so after i applied all the fixes: it worked flawlessly. May depend on the hardware though. Or maybe you were unlucky :(

As for Soul Reaver 2: my favourite entry in the series! Maybe I'm a little biased, becouse it's the first Legacy of Kain game I played. What I was enthralled with:
- awesome graphics for the time, especially facial animation showing all kinds of emotions of characters
- optimisation - game works flawlessly on very modest computer specs of the time
- one of the best and complex stories in history of gaming on par with Planescape: Torment
- writing so good and poetic that you can even quote it! (maybe less so if you're more into realism and down-to-earth things but still)
- unparalleled voice acting, a staple of the series, that can send shiver down your spine
- if you are not shivering enough - you get even more shivers from the awesome music, from the moment you enter the menu: menu music is my favourite piece, along with the Pillars and Janos Audron themes.
The game ends on a cliffhanger, but what a cliffhanger it is, emotions sky high you don't know what's going on holding your breath...
The game itself may be a little on the "interactive movie side" (long cutscenes and linearity) and be a little short (it took me few hours on a second playthrough, few days on the first) - but this are not faults for me, it's a genre you like or not. I do, and I am grateful for some best gaming moments Soul Reaver 2 gave me.

MichaelPalin: Gog, don't you dare releasing Blood Omen 2. Don't you dare. Or, at least, release all the others and maybe release Blood Omen 2 when nobody cares anymore and you release it at the same time you release System Shock 2 or something.

DCT: Look GOG released Might and Magic 9, Masters of Orion 3, and a few other not very cared for games and I'm sure I that there going to release Ultima 9 down the road so it's a good sign that Blood omen 2 will be here as well.
I'm just fearing that they may release Blood Omen 2 before Blood Omen, which would be quite annoying.

They may be not Good Old Games, but Good (for a completionist) Old Games :)

It's likely they will since for one there isn't any lega issue with Blood Omen 2, and while it has the blood omen title it's actually plot wise the result of the Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance events

I'm assuming legal rights or something of that nature has kept Blood Omen from being released but the rest is appearing.. Soul Reaver, now Soul Reaver 2, if they are going by order of original release, then Blood Omen 2 will be next put on here. It was the next game released in the series. With Defiance following it behind.

Damn, I'm going to end up buying Blood Omen 2 on GOG, since it's the only game in the series I didn't play, and get frustrated by the bad story (I did read the script :P).

Yeah there not what I or alot of people would consider but sadly there's quite a few people who want those games, Ultima IX got at least 1,750 votes on the wish list. http://www.gog.com/en/wishlist/games/ultima_ix_ascension
Yeah it's not alot compaired to system shock 2 and other good games but it shows that there are people would actually buy it. Personally I think EA should put that one up for free.

To be honest, if you find the script frustrating, don't even attempt the game, it's far more frustrating and ridiculous :)

Why sadly? :)

Putting it up for free isn't justified bussinesswise, but they should do it, if they felt morally responsible for exploiting the fact, that people who fell in love with Might and Magic or Ultima worlds, can't resist buying a new entry, even if it's just to imagine, while playing, what it could have been, if it weren't what it is.

I may masochistically fall into a category of people I mentioned above :P

Sequiro has already provided a link to it. :)

He also mentioned that you need the Bink converter (for making the vids run properly I assume). Just check his post on the previous page.
Cool, now release Blood Omen please, that's the one I want the most!

Yeah I had to run both the installer AND the bink converter to get the game to run, without the bink converter I couldn't get past the menu screen. So make sure to do both.
