Featuring the Fearsome Fangs of Fury!

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2, the action-adventure game following the exploits of the blood-hungry anti-hero Kain, is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Kain, the Vampire Overlord had it all. He had the gruesome glamour, the sinister swag, the mighty magical blade called the Soul Reaver, and an army of obedient minions ready to storm the fortified gates of the great city Meridian. The world of Nosgoth was his blood-filled oyster. But then the Serafan Order had to show up with their fancy glyph magic and it all just went to hell. Well, not literally, because when Nosgoth is your home hell seems like a holiday resort, but still--the power and glory days came to a sudden and unexpected end for our blood-sucking anti-hero. Now, after a 200-year slumber, he wakes up to a twisted world where his brethren are treated like scum. And to make things worse the power of the Soul Reaver is now in the treacherous hands of the Serafan Lord. Take it back and make make sure that the city of Meridian once again finds its respect for the vampire kind.

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 is a third person perspective action game with many lavish locations to explore, legions of fearsome foes and bewildering bosses to slay, and a pile of puzzles to challenge your wits. The Games action-oriented 3D gameplay is more in the lines of the series' future installments, like Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, rather than its 2D predecessor.

Get your gruesome groove back and paint Meridian red in Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2, for only $5.99!

TheEnigmaticT: There are licensing problems with Blood Omen 1; we're working on resolving them as we can, but we figured that you guys would rather have Blood Omen 2 now and Blood Omen 1 (maybe) later, than no Blood Omen at all.
This is great to hear :) im sure GOG will come through for us :)
Looks like I'll have to buy Blood Omen physically; first time in a while I've done that, but "working on resolving them" could mean years, or never. Still, I'll have the rest of the series on GOG, so that's cool.

Paradoks: I'm quite sure it's not a compatibility issue. It's a legal issue.

mrking58: How can there be a rights issue? The game was released on PSN a few weeks before Soul Reaver
US PSN? EU PSN? It's not available in Russia (a ghetto within the EU PSN ghetto), so there might be regional rights issues.
Many of us are acting like spoiled children: "Where's my BO1, I want my BO1!". It's like a child sulking over getting a Luke Skywalker toy when he wanted Darth Vader. Notice how TET had to respond to us like a father that we should be thankful we got a Star Wars toy at all.

Entitled a-holes sure are entitled.

This is another reason this place needs an ignore function..

I'm glad you guys said what I was thinking because I was tempted to be less civil about it.

So, you feel entitled to an ignore function... ;)

You got me there! Still, it's better than seeing people day after day flaming and bitching about stuff that isn't necessary and that goes both way (I certainly want people who don't like what I say to ignore me). :)

Of course...
But, actually, this is more like getting a Star Trek toy instead of Star Wars...
Just because it has a "Star" in the title doesn't mean it's the same series...

Just sayin' :)

DCT: Activision published the PS1 version as well you know.
In the States, yes. Not in Europe, though, AFAIK. Either way, Activision is probably still involved in all this, so let's hope they can figure this out.

edit: OK, EnigmaticT explained it.

Blood Omen 1's story is the entire foundation of this series (more literally so than usual - Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance literally revolve around it, and make significantly less sense when it isn't available). Quite a few people anticipate it and would like to spend money on it. For them to ask where it is, why has it been saved until last and after this game (which is looked upon as the worst in the series), is there a problem preventing it from being sold, etc, seems reasonable to me. I regret that you instead brand it as the behavior of a bunch of entitled a**holes.

It's available in both US and EU PSN. It took about a year for a EU release though.

The problem is that BO1 and BO2 are not in the same league. We wanted Darth Vader, but got Jar Jar Binks. :P
