A real treat for any fan of Heroes of Might and Magic type of games, mixing strategy and RPG elements. Make sure not to miss it!

Set out on your great adventure in the beautiful high-fantasy realm of Endoria! Get Kings Bounty: Crossworlds GOTY, for only $14.99, this week only!
By the way, I remember playing a very primitive DOS EGA game called King's Bounty that came as a bonus to a Heroes of Might & Magic CD ROM years ago. Then, several years later, I bought the HOMM game for the Playstation 2 and that reminded me a lot of King's Bounty. Is this King's Bounty related in any way to those games?

Yep. If you are a fan of the original or HOMM games, this will be a lot like those games. This is more of a modern spiritual sequel of the original than HOMM.

HoMM1 is basically miltiplayer KB. It even had the treasure search.

I must say that I like the original KB better, than the re-imagining. Faster or instant attack and movement animations, the map always clearly indicates where you can and can't go, no constant desire to lift the camera further and stop staring at horse's arse, no fucking sidequests that take you through several empty maps and loading screens, the main quest that can be finished without beating every single boss... ah...
What the... this is the first time I've had a transaction go wrong with GOG (after almost 388 games). Some where between paypal deducting the funds from my credit card the redirection back to gog sort of halted. Now I'm down US $15 and gog things I don't own the game.

Now to contact GOG support and get this sorted. The true test of a merchant / supplier is how well they handle things when they don't go right.

------
fixed now Firek from support sent me a link to refresh my games list. Oddly Firefox that had issue and wouldn't open my games list at all, simple restart wasn't good enough for it had to clear my cache then restart and I'm golden.

Now I have Crossworlds to wish I had time to play :)

The original King's Bounty was made before the first HoMM by the same team which made the HoMM series itself. The new King's Bounty series is made by a different team, although the new series has a lot of similarities with the old KB game.

Btw., the original King's Bounty was a very complex game by the time of its release.

Still not playable on AMD cards. The performance is just abysmal. My old 8800GTS could run these games butter smooth in 1080p with all bells and whistles enabled. Now with my 7950 (far more powerful) I can barely get to 30fps and sometimes the game dips to 1-5 fps lol.

AMD drivers truly suck monkey balls.

I've been using AMD for a long time now already and I don't remember any particular problems with this game to be honest.

Same here.
You know what? If the quality was just slightly better (192kbps is on the edge already!) I would consider spending 15$ for the soundtrack only! It's marvelous (just listen to this) But here you get something better: great game with a decent quality soundtrack as a cherry on top!
Thank you, guys, for your insight into the game and its similarities to the original King's Bounty. I just bought it, even though I think it's a bit high priced and I already own it on Steam, because I just bought Avernum from GOG and didn't want it to feel lonely. Seriously, though, I did it to show support and appreciation to GOG and whoever owns the rights to the respective titles for their services which I highly regard. For GOG to get me to buy a game that I already own, either on physical media or from another digital distributor, is a sign of a very effective business model with high consumer loyalty.
Good new game.
What is the difference between this version and the version available on Steam?

This version claims to be GOTY in that it also has Armored Princess, but from what I can gather, Crossworlds on Steam also includes the Armored Princess campaign and doesn't require purchase or installation of AP in order to be playable.

DRM-free for one. And we also have Armored Princess plus the various mini-campaigns such as Orc on the March and Defender of the Crown.

The Steam version also has those two mini-campaigns.

Steam has a Russian language option ;)
