So heinous are the crimes of witches that they even exceed the sins and the fall of the bad Angels; and if this is true as to their guilt, how should it not also be true of their punishments in hell? -- "Hammer of the Witches", Henricus Institoris, Anno Domini 1486

Inquisitor, the dark medieval story of witchcraft prosecution that looks and feels like a product of the golden age of PC RPGs, is now available on GOG.com for only $14.99.

The world stands on the brink of collapse, and you, a member of the Holy Inquisition and a witch hunter, are the only force that can protect the faith, fight the heresy, and solve the conflict fueled by hellish forces. As one of three main characters you will delve into the gloomy world full of atrocious crimes and powerful enemies, and try to unravel the monstrous conspiracy that threatens the Realm. Soon, the burning funeral pyres will light your way and the screams of tortured heretics will let your enemies know that the fearless Inquisitor is here to investigate, judge, and punish.

Inquisitor, a game that's been developed and polished over the course of 10 years, tosses you into a large, open gameworld and a non-linear gameplay, which contains over 1,5 million words in its dialogs, side texts and descriptions. This story-driven action RPG will present you with hundreds of quests, items, spells, robust player statistics, and skill sets. You'll be following a gritty, mature, and captivating story that dares to go deep into one of the darkest chapters in the history of humankind. All this, and more, packed in the form of an RPG true to the isometric roots of classic PC gaming.

Unleash God's wrath on the heads of the heinous heretics as the Inquisitor, for only $14.99!

Nice to see you around and kicking. (had a preorder, so didn't take it).

On an another note, am I the only one experiencing a constant crash after character creation screen?
Downloading, but my internet is relatively slow. I'll get to play it tomorrow, if I have time. Thursday is the busy day of the week this semester.
ok

Aaah, waiting for payday to able to get my hand on this game :(
I am finding extreme difficulty in playing at max difficulty. Even the starting bats are a pain.

Gosh.
Good New Game.

Egads. TWW! Long time no see!
The game seems... interesting. Not necessarily good. The translation in particular just seems to hearken back to the late 90s in how stilted and awkward it is. Obviously, it's too early for me to ask GOG for my $12 back, but I am not especially enamored a few hours in.

Technically, it's not too early but too late, since you've already made the purchase. :P

I'm hoping to install and play this game today. I'm most excited!
I'm still hesitating. On one side it sounds extremely awesome. I'm in love with deep Iso-RPGs. On the other side there are kind of mixed reviews - I still think I will like it. Nevertheless I just begun Planescape: Torment and told myself that this would be the only game I play now. And hey, it's 15 Dollars... =/
I would love to try the game, but dont want to waste money on an RPG with badly translated NPC dialogue, I think it would suck me out of the game world constantly, its great to see games like this, still being made and ordinarily I would take a punt, but....the dialogue... that makes it a difficult choice unfortunately.

If you haven't finished at least BG games, PS:T, Arcanum and Fallouts, Inquisitor is not worth buying. Those games are cheaper and quite simply better. If Inquisitor was released back then alongside those gems, it would be barely remembered today.

Thus far I don't think the translation of the dialogue is bad. It does not always flow quite as natural as it would if it was a game that originally was in English, but it is not distracting.

So is this game like a Baldur's Gate clone?
