Test your intelligent design!

Incredipede, an imaginative puzzle game with unique mechanics and remarkable art style, is now available on GOG.com 20% off. That's only $11.99 until Thursday, November 1, at 10:59AM GMT.

Creatures changing their ways and their physique over thousands of generations, adjusting to their ever-changing natural habitat? How impractical! Had there been a chasm in their path, they would have to wait hundreds of years and sacrifice countless legions of their brethren on futile attempts to get to the other side, before one of them was finally born with legs strong enough to complete the task. What a waste of time and energy. Why in the world would you want to wait for them to learn to solve their problems on their own? That's not the way nature works, I tell you. If they need need wings, give them wings! If they need gills, just strap some on them! Ha! Evolution--what a laughable concept.

Incredipede is an exceptional game on many levels. The first thing that instantly stands out is its art style. The world of Incredipede looks like a woodcut illustration of some XVIII century book. The unique look of this game is easily matched by its original concept. You help a strange creature named Quozzle reach its goal in a multitude of cleverly designed stages. To do so, you equip it with extra limbs and strap muscles on its body, to handcraft it into a fantastic specimen designed exclusively to conquer the obstacles at hand. But there's still a whole other layer to the game. The ability to produce your own levels and creatures, share them online, and browse other players' creations and solutions, make Incredipede a limitless sandbox for devious puzzles, mindblowing experiments, and perfecting your intelligent designs!

Step in to the beautiful, woodcut lands and become the Creator and master of faith of the strange creature known as the Incredipede, for only $11.99.
This has probably been said before, but it's worth repeating. Anyone interested in the game can play the trial version here:

The developers also sell the game on their website, through the Humble Store. Buying the game this way currently does not get you a GOG key. (Unlike Retro City Rampage which was also sold through the Humble Store and which contained a GOG key.)
It's really really cute. Resisting the urge to buy. Price slightly too high! for now.
Looks incredibly fun and brainwracking.

Wishlisting for now.
Am I the only one that was totally creeped out by the trailer? The eye and those legs.. Don't get me wrong, I really like the art style and the gameplay looks creative. I love puzzle games so I'll get it no doubt.. but it's... just... creepy. Like a nightmare come alive.

As long as it's not bodily fluid-obsessed art by Edmund McMillen, this game looks as nice as a fairy tale book to me.

jefequeso: Some people on here just love to complain about everything. This isn't even anywhere near the worst.
I'm the same person that has thanked GOG every Good Old Game arrived. I like also the indies and newer games but for me GOG must remain Good Old Games first of all.

I wasn't talking about you in particular, or anyone in particular for that matter. It's just that there's a lot of complaining about things that I think are rather ridiculous.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to say hi. I'm Colin Northway, the author of Incredipede.

It's been a lot of work and a labour of love for me, my wife and the artist Thomas Shahan. I hope we managed to bring you a wonderful experience.

Sorry I'm late to the party!

Ooh, a dev!

So tell us... were you going for a gross aesthetic or a "cute but unnerving" aesthetic? Our reactions have been polarized so far.
Wow, some of the best graphics I've seen in a while. And the gameplay looks like fun too. I'm thinking a more advanced version of Action SuperCross\Elasto Mania? :-)

I love the idea behind your game, mr. Northway.
I've played a lot of FC and had a great time; yeah, I'm buying Incredipede too.
So, can tell us here what were your main inspirations?

Thanks!

Has anyone on the team played Sexy Hiking?

jussip: I would like to see "indie" games like Bastion, Lone Survivor or Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP here in GOG.
I already got all of that via Humble Bundle 5, DRM-free and with awesome soundtracks. :/

Mivas: it makes me a sad panda when I look at Latest headlines being strongly dominated by them. I miss a balance.
Me too. I'd like at least a 5:5, but right now it's like 8:2. :( The news that a new publisher with great *old* games will be coming aboard soon makes me happy, though.

Wow, possibly a few of the greatest pixels i have seen in quite some time. Plus the style of game appears to be rather good. I am thinking a higher quality edition of Action SuperCross\Elasto Mania?

:D
