Romanul: I'm surprised to see such a low hype for this release. Maybe everybody is busying playing the game.
I think anything that isn't a Lucas Arts release may suffer a similar fate.

MaxFulvus: I also would like to have a French version for the original IWD 1 !

GOG, why not to add it now, considering the EE has a French version ? You can't say anymore it's a question of right issues !
avatar
vv221: Wasn’t a rights issue but a technical one. I don’t remember where I read it, probably in one of the sticky posts in the Icewind Dale sub-forum.
I found a fan-made patch for a french translation in the sub-for um, I don't know if it works well or also translates the expansions because I don't have the game. I will keep in mind for later !

While growing older, I began to despise all of these tricky money-suckers, enhanced-edition-makers and the similar public.

tburger: Nice release and I will eventually get this ..but for now Lucasarts gets all the juice ..
And here is one good example of my previous comment.

Licurg: Just noticed this :P

Are they gonna do an EE for Planescape:Torment too ?

vulchor: I've looked into this for a long time and I don't remember seeing anything official about it. I think they would be interested in doing it after they finish up with IWD2, and I recall reading somewhere that the creators of PST would have no objection to them making one.

Even though the original release of BGEE was really buggy, after about 6 months it was a very playable game and I think BeamDog has done an excellent job with these editions. The only thing that I worry about with PST is them adding content that doesn't fit quite right. PST is high art. That said, I'd love them do it so that PST can hopefully get into more people's hands that never played the original, as long as it is done with respect. I believe BeamDog is capable of doing that.
Hopefully, they just give it a graphics update, and some new gameplay elements, and keep the rest as it is .

RadonGOG: Sounds good, but proberbly waiting for press and player reviews...
...BG II EE is called to be somehow not completly bug-free;would like to know how ID EE worked out!
Beamdog doesn't have a very good record so far with the quality of their releases, and they have a super slow patch release cycle; their development strategy seems to be stuck in another decade or something. So if IWD EE needs patching on release (I don't know if it does, maybe this one's different), better wait until it actually is patched to a decent quality, which could take more than a year (I wish I was exaggerating, but I'm actually being conservative).

BG EE is great now, maybe play that in the meantime :)
Happy to see Icewind Dale: Ehanced Edition here on GOG.com :D

But for $20 I think I'll wait for an eventual sale, sorry... :/

jalister: Thank you Beamdog for releasing this here on day one DRM free, where it belongs. I remember having long discussions on your forum regarding DRM. This was my favorite of the Infinity Engine games. I will be getting this later, unfortunately I can justify the full price against my current budget.

Now if you could just get these onto Linux.

JudasIscariot: Linux version is on the way to us so hold tight :)
Very glad to hear...
Lol, did people downvote that Chinese review simply because it's Chinese? That's kinda sad.

Not sure, the other guy that gave a on-liner 5/5 has 7/140 approval, so it could be that people don't agree with the 5/5 rating for this game (or one liner reviews), but yeah, it would be sad if it was just because the review is in Chinese.

It is probably a language your grand descendants (if you have any) will be fluent in after all.

Let me just say that i didn't (down)voted anything, now...

First of all, why did only picked that one? Just below that review there's another with the same "problem", (chinese 5 positive / 99 negative vs 7 positive / 133 negative), what do they have in common? They're not reviews, they're just people celebrating the game is available on gog (chinese "review" translated by google: This is what I expect of all , and imagine the same. The first time to buy, very happy. I hope to continue to do IWD2ee beamdog).

I'm sorry but you're seeing something where it doesn't exist, people didn't downvoted because it was chinese but because it isn't a review, it's just a random comment that should be on the forums. Or did people also downvoted the other because it was in english?

Yes, that review is in English and therefore most people can read it and understand and be able to properly judge it. I'm assuming that most people who downvoted that Chinese review cannot read Chinese and therefore downvoted it just based on the fact that it is Chinese and nothing else. Either that or there are a hell of a lot more Chinese speakers here than I thought.

Most non-english reviews are downvoted heavily.
Thanks! Waiting for the Linux version to arrive.

Are those reviews being downvoted or just NOT upvoted?
I never have figured out how that's supposed to work. :/

Edit: nvrmnd, I figured it out.
