1990s - when TV was still a thing!

GEX, a TV-culture-crazed classic side-scrolling platformer where you take down the devious media mogul Rez as a wise-cracking gecko, is available for only $5.99 on GOG.com!

His uncle modeled for a yuppie shirt logo, his Dad blew up in a NASA rocket, his busy Mom raised him in front of the tube. Meet GEX - a wisecracking gecko with a major attitude. With his blazing tongue, battering tail, and sharp wit, this outrageous reptile is ready to kill TV and movie rejects in a sidesplitting game of awesome intensity! This classic platformer from the 90s serves up a myriad of decade-specific TV and movie one-liners, and lets you battle your way through 5 uniquely-themed worlds of the Media Dimension. Not to mention that your hero GEX, unlike most geckos, can hurl fireballs, climb buildings, tail-slap his foes, and inhale power-up bugs for extra energy.

Does anyone know if Gex works with an Xbox 360 controller?
Freaking awesome release. Does this mean we'll potentially see that Sonic - like game that recently came out?
Do you mean Freedom Planet?

"@GOGcom Fortunately, it's in the works! :)"

Great! Good to see love for classic platforming.
$5.99 ??

ummm i don't think so, Its $6.89 for me.
Gex! Used to play this on the 3DO. Thanks GOG!
Im personally hoping for the third game to be released later... And hopefully with the U.K. Voiceovers (Danny John Jules is awesome) rather than the kinda bland voice that's used normally...

That would be fantastic, but sadly the third game was not released for the pc.

And that makes me sad because the 3rd game was my favorite one :(

Do you have your currency set to Australian dollars? Check the lower right corner of the game page to see a currency selector :)
I hope for Enter the Gecko too! :-D

It does. Only uses 3 buttons for gameplay and requires no setting up. F3 pauses and brings up the options so you can alter button config if you want.

Played a lot of Gex yesterday! Thanks GOG and developers, yay!

Yup, I'm also sad here, too; along with Jersey Devil, Deep cover Gecko was probably one of the coolest 3d platformers I've every played. Kinda weird taste, I know. I was never that Mario 64 guy, I was the Gex one :)
And too bad Gex 3 was never release for the pc! I always thought the n64 version was way superior compared to the psx one, but reviews made me believe the contrary.

Bless you! I played it last night and was just coming here to see if there was a way to remap the controller. The default assignments of the buttons feel a bit off to me.

Oh, and it actually uses all four Xbox buttons - jump, run, tailwhip, and tongue.

PS - Great avatar. I'm partial to Stiletto myself. :)
