1990s - when TV was still a thing!

GEX, a TV-culture-crazed classic side-scrolling platformer where you take down the devious media mogul Rez as a wise-cracking gecko, is available for only $5.99 on GOG.com!

His uncle modeled for a yuppie shirt logo, his Dad blew up in a NASA rocket, his busy Mom raised him in front of the tube. Meet GEX - a wisecracking gecko with a major attitude. With his blazing tongue, battering tail, and sharp wit, this outrageous reptile is ready to kill TV and movie rejects in a sidesplitting game of awesome intensity! This classic platformer from the 90s serves up a myriad of decade-specific TV and movie one-liners, and lets you battle your way through 5 uniquely-themed worlds of the Media Dimension. Not to mention that your hero GEX, unlike most geckos, can hurl fireballs, climb buildings, tail-slap his foes, and inhale power-up bugs for extra energy.

gixgox: Now it seems I have to. Luckily there are a few Euros in the GOG piggy-bank.
Lucky you! It seems my piggy ate my coins - I shouldn't have trusted the bloody thing. Ahhh...
Great platformer. Have to wait till tomorrow to buy this. Luckily i still have the 3DO version to keep me going.

Nice. I have this on 3DO console.
Maybe «The Horde», being published by Crystal Dynamics, will appear here too...
I really hope Gex: Enter the Gecko comes to GOG, only question is, will it be either the American version which featured the voice of Dana Gould as Gex or the European version with Leslie Phillips as Gex???
Wow, GOG is on a roll lately! I hope Enter The Gecko will follow soon, I've always wanted to play that one.
Out of curiosity, is that background image the wallpaper that is included? Pretty cool imo.

sunshinecorp: Hadn't heard of this before, but judging from the comments I'd wager it's good. No?
Personally it´s not on the same level that the best Mario/Sonic/Rayman games, but I would put it on the Top 5 32bits platforming games. The core gameplay is on par with the best 2D platformings games of the 90s, it´s just the level design which personally makes this game not as good as the rest of them. It has many nice parts but it features many cheap ones as well, and usually gimmicks are overused on the same stage. The level design is far from being bad or even mediocre though, it just isn´t as good as the rest of the game IMO.

If you love 2D platforming games and/or challenging games, and you haven´t played it, I would totally recommend it, as it´s one of the best platforming games from mid 90s. Keep in mind it isn´t easy though, and completing it needs mastering nearly all the moves. Personally, it´s one of those games that I replay at least once every few years, it´s that good.
Oh my. I did not know that this was on PC. :O

At last a great release! I'll buy it at the weekend.
Woah! Did not expect this to on GOG. The first game I ever bought. Great Platforming game but quite hard in the last few levels.
