1990s - when TV was still a thing!

GEX, a TV-culture-crazed classic side-scrolling platformer where you take down the devious media mogul Rez as a wise-cracking gecko, is available for only $5.99 on GOG.com!

His uncle modeled for a yuppie shirt logo, his Dad blew up in a NASA rocket, his busy Mom raised him in front of the tube. Meet GEX - a wisecracking gecko with a major attitude. With his blazing tongue, battering tail, and sharp wit, this outrageous reptile is ready to kill TV and movie rejects in a sidesplitting game of awesome intensity! This classic platformer from the 90s serves up a myriad of decade-specific TV and movie one-liners, and lets you battle your way through 5 uniquely-themed worlds of the Media Dimension. Not to mention that your hero GEX, unlike most geckos, can hurl fireballs, climb buildings, tail-slap his foes, and inhale power-up bugs for extra energy.

BTW, if you have a Twitter account, you might thank https://twitter.com/jaywalker2309 (assuming he had a hand in this) for bringing more Squeenix games. (You can "tag along" on my tweet if you want - https://twitter.com/tytbone/status/522753361461116929 )
Nice. I have good memories of this game. But wishlisted for now, due to low funds. :-(

Excellent game but I have it on PS1. I might double dip if it is discounted in the future.
Yes, love me some videogamedunky! (Definitely prefer his non-LoL videos)
I'm super stoked for this. It was my first game for the psx back in 1998. I've beat it numerous times and always enjoyed the various culture references. I don't know about the pc controls, but on the psx, they were smooth and responsive. The level difficulty scales nicely and the enemies have a decent variety and are appropriately themed for the zones. The bosses were very entertaining and pretty well designed to boot.
Wishlisted for now. :D
Huh, I never realised there was a Gex game before the PS1/N64 one!
low rated
An actual classic game released? I thought GoG wasn't interested in old games any more.

Finally, it just had to be on GOG, thank you! One of my favorites of all time!

ReynardFox: Wait what, I never knew this came to PC.

Is the port decent?
Yes, I think so, this was the first Gex I ever played and I was surprised that there was a PS1 version, I bough the PS1 version afterwards and to me, the one for PC is still much better :o
But maybe it depends on which one you played first, anyway controls are okay, otherwise I wouldn't have beaten it back in the days. Not the talent-free myself^^
I remember playing the hell out of the demo years ago. Now I'll finally get around to actually playing the full version.

Thanks again, GOG.
Does anyone know if Gex works with an Xbox 360 controller?
really wish this post could be applied to GEX! :P
these are the games some of us, born in the '80s, grew up with

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_baldurs_gate_enhanced_edition_and_baldurs_gate_2_enhanced_edition/post55

CONFIRMED!
