1990s - when TV was still a thing!

GEX, a TV-culture-crazed classic side-scrolling platformer where you take down the devious media mogul Rez as a wise-cracking gecko, is available for only $5.99 on GOG.com!

His uncle modeled for a yuppie shirt logo, his Dad blew up in a NASA rocket, his busy Mom raised him in front of the tube. Meet GEX - a wisecracking gecko with a major attitude. With his blazing tongue, battering tail, and sharp wit, this outrageous reptile is ready to kill TV and movie rejects in a sidesplitting game of awesome intensity! This classic platformer from the 90s serves up a myriad of decade-specific TV and movie one-liners, and lets you battle your way through 5 uniquely-themed worlds of the Media Dimension. Not to mention that your hero GEX, unlike most geckos, can hurl fireballs, climb buildings, tail-slap his foes, and inhale power-up bugs for extra energy.

HypersomniacLive: GOG begs to differ though. ;-P
As I said above, it doesn't matter. It's, at last, confirmed!
Indeed.. i see this post, but i look at the main page it's not there... go to the link and it's 404 nothing there...

Maybe kinks getting the page up? I'm sure it will all be better when i get up in 8 hours...

timppu: So... is Microsoft officially on board now? I recalled the PC version of this was published by MS, also according to MobyGames. Or who is the publisher for this one?

Really? Wikipedia lists Eidos as the publisher, so that means Square-Enix.

Hmm, maybe it has changed a publisher later. I had a recollection back when this was available in retail stores that at least the PC version was a "Microsoft game", and Mobygames also lists it as such.

Then again, on MB there are quite a few companies listed as the publisher, depending on the platform. E.g. on Playstation and Playstation 3(?), Sony is marked as the publisher. I guess we will see soon who GOG will mark as the publisher.

What can I say? We'll learn soon enough.
Nice, but it's still 404 for now.
Cool release! I've been wanting to try this one. :)
Go away, bear, we want our Gex... :)

So another game from mid-90's got here, that's good. I wonder what's next?

EDIT: Ah, here it is. :)

Yup, Square-Enix indeed.
Hadn't heard of this before, but judging from the comments I'd wager it's good. No?
Nice. Wishlisted for now.

How is the gameplay, anyone who played it?

Seems to be platinum in WineHQ database, might be a nice Linux package as well. ;)
