Grow stronger turn, by turn.

Eador: Genesis, an impressive turn-based strategy with RPG elements, that sends you on a quest to conquer a shattered realm, is now available on GOG.com, for only $4.79! That's 20% off, this week only!

The world is no longer whole. All that remains are the islands of existence drifting aimlessly through the endless ocean of emptiness and oblivion. This broken realm houses many aspiring despots, hell-bent on uniting the floating shards of land under their own rule. There was, however, no single monarch who could achieve that feat since the time of the cataclysm. That won't stop you from trying, of course. Is it because you're even more hungry for power and wealth then your opponents? Or maybe you see a higher purpose in domination over Eador? Maybe you believe, that the world united under the rule of one strong leader will finally begin to heal? As one of the Masters, you're free to exercise your will however you see fit. But know this: history will judge you.

Eador: Genesis delivers a turn-based strategy experience inspired by the classics of the genre. It's a multi-layered game, equally stressing the importance of your kingdom's development and management, and your tactical battlefield abilities. There's also a strongly accented RPG element, that goes so well with the imaginatively crafted fantasy setting of the game. With over 170 structures to build, 80 magic spells to master, and 70 kinds of units to lead into the battle, each with its own goals and defining characteristic--this title will keep you busy for many long evenings.

Looking for a well-polished turn-based strategy game that's immersive, enthralling, and deep? Get Eador: Genesis, for only $4.79! That's 20% off until the promo ends on Tuesday, December 11, at 10:59AM GMT.
A well-leveled wizard with a metric ton of direct damage and necro spells under belt can piss away some of the fighting spirit freely, because his minions work mostly as a meat shield.

lowyhong: Did you do anything evil, or use necromantic/chaos magic?

towerbooks3192: I thought that it would only affect them if I have a unit with opposite alignment on my party? Well I kind of heavily relied on summoning Skeletons, Zombies and Imps but did no sacrificial ritual or anything.
Morale is also harmed when the unit's master (i.e. you) is of opposing alignment, and if you do a lot of undead raising and demon summoning, you are ought to have dark karma.
Will I get a penalty if I only used Fear or Ammo burn but not summoning creatures?
If I understand the file structure correctly, these two are harmless for karma. But there are other non-summoning spells which are evil. Vampirism, Disease, Dark Pact (the single most karma-devastating spell, equals 7 zombie raisings), Inferno, Black Magic are some examples.
Ok, I guess I might as well use evil units then. I have to resort to necro and black magic because I haven't unlocked the summoning school (please dont tell me I get morality hit using gargoyles?) I will experiment for a bit and see how things go
Damn, got distracted and missed the 20% off intro special, oh well I'll wish list it and take a look at it in the future.
I've hired gargoyles from sorcery stores occasionally, and they're neutral units, so they shouldn't have an alignment impact.

The occasional use of a 'bad' spell doesn't seem to cripple your karma either - just don't make a regular habit of it. In one game my mage had to fight fire with fire when facing a scout who seemed to have filled every available spell slot with Raise Zombie - denying the scout even a couple of corpses by raising them on my side made the difference; my karma was nevertheless still 'good' afterward. Of course, my mage had learned those from scrolls rather than me having a necromantic building in the fortress, so maybe that was part of it - does the building itself impose a karma penalty?

Ankelesh: A little announcement: Eador-Masters of a broken world wouldn't be a sequel or prequel. It will be the same Eador:Genesis, but in 3D. (Also, both games will have the same content, and when Masters of a broken world will have add-ons, Genesis will have them too.
P.S. My Engrish is bad, but I hope, you understand these announcement.
Sorry, but that's not very true. We never announced that possible DLCs or add-ons for MotBW will be also available for Genesis. We'll be focusing on the new game only :)

Many thanks for dropping in to clarify that point. :)
Whilst its a shame to hear I its certainly not unexpected considering the age of Genesis. Still all the more reason to jump up to the 3D version when it makes its appearance :)

Sorry, but I didn't speak that YOU will do this. Snowbird didn't make Genesis and it don't need to support it. They will be available with help of Adrageron. (Also,it's a bad news-I nether like DLC,)
I think it would be better if someone from snowbird or the creator of the game himself would have a representative in this forums and should be given a special forum title or something so that we know if the news relating to Eador is official or not
Creator is already here. His nickname is Adrageron

You mean Alexey is here? Well all I can say is that whatever happens, if they will add more stuff in genesis or MoTB, all of us will win in the end. We will all have a better Eador
Could someone explain how corruption in provinces works in this game?
What are some ways to deal with province corruption?

the more corruption, the less income you have from that province...

and there's a building that stops it entirely I think (not sure about the name of it, but it was shown to me in a quick tip during one of the games)
This game is awesome... They show the harpies' titties !!!
Someone on the reviews compared this game to Might and Magic. I don't consider that high praise.
