Grow stronger turn, by turn.

Eador: Genesis, an impressive turn-based strategy with RPG elements, that sends you on a quest to conquer a shattered realm, is now available on GOG.com, for only $4.79! That's 20% off, this week only!

The world is no longer whole. All that remains are the islands of existence drifting aimlessly through the endless ocean of emptiness and oblivion. This broken realm houses many aspiring despots, hell-bent on uniting the floating shards of land under their own rule. There was, however, no single monarch who could achieve that feat since the time of the cataclysm. That won't stop you from trying, of course. Is it because you're even more hungry for power and wealth then your opponents? Or maybe you see a higher purpose in domination over Eador? Maybe you believe, that the world united under the rule of one strong leader will finally begin to heal? As one of the Masters, you're free to exercise your will however you see fit. But know this: history will judge you.

Eador: Genesis delivers a turn-based strategy experience inspired by the classics of the genre. It's a multi-layered game, equally stressing the importance of your kingdom's development and management, and your tactical battlefield abilities. There's also a strongly accented RPG element, that goes so well with the imaginatively crafted fantasy setting of the game. With over 170 structures to build, 80 magic spells to master, and 70 kinds of units to lead into the battle, each with its own goals and defining characteristic--this title will keep you busy for many long evenings.

Looking for a well-polished turn-based strategy game that's immersive, enthralling, and deep? Get Eador: Genesis, for only $4.79! That's 20% off until the promo ends on Tuesday, December 11, at 10:59AM GMT.
Ah I see what you mean. So basically something like Campaign, except without the expansion of scope over time e.g. meeting new Masters? That would be pretty cool actually.

overread:

Fenixp: Also, actual choices and consequences! Protip: Don't piss off the inquisition.
avatar
lowyhong: Fuck the inquisition. I make it my mission to torture all who come my way. They want to take over my province? Kill them all!
Was I the only one that felt a little pang of guilt after I burned a witch? I mean; what if those rumors weren't true? :D

They probably weighed her, so the conviction is solid.

You should try Wine instead, it runs Windows programs on OS X (and Linux) without needing Windows. I have a Wineskin wrapper for Eador over at The Porting Team, give it a try. Much better than having to reboot to Windows. i use Wineskin for almost all my Windows games.

Thanks for the offer mate but I already set windows as the default OS on start-up. I only use Mac side of my mac for Uni and I have been away from uni for a year so I set it to windows. The other reason why I am excited of the release of the new one is that hopefully it will run well on my alienware
Woah, I just noticed that this game is at the lowest price point. That's pretty impressively low considering how big everyone says it is.
Hope I'm asking in the right place. AWESOME game...but I can't figure out how to buy resources. The text seems to indicate that if I'm not producing a resource, I can pay market price for it. That would be huge, if I could actually do it. Thanks in advance.
Resources are automatically factored into the price you pay for a building. Say a building costs 1 redwood and 600 gold. If you own a province that produces redwood, you just pay 600 gold. If not, you pay 600 gold + current price of wood.

At least that's my understanding of how the economy works.

I also noticed this one as well. Pikemen cost 1 iron plus a certain amount of gold and it cost around 90 when I haven't had a province with iron yet. When i had a province yielding iron, the cost of a pikeman went down to 35 gold
It looks like Eador: Genesis found a huge crowd of fans. I guess I need to jump on that wagon as well... I hope that the sequel is coming here soon!

yeah, that's right.
aaargh I suck so much at this game :D

I've been able to finish the tutorial without problems now (thanks for those answers) and to conquer one "tiny" shard probably just by accident (there were massive battles on the borders every turn, my hero died like 5 times, but after a while the enemy just stopped pushing so hard so I killed him :) but after that I've already lost two next shards, so I'm pretty worried because there's no save and load function (and yes, I play on "beginner")

I don't even have time to fight the fights myself (thanks gods for the F10 key!), and I no longer do any "exploring" or "building search", there's no time to do that so they're pretty useless now...

I'll probably better get back to something easier ;)

If you're not exploring or building searching you're doing it wrong :-P On the other hand, I'm glad that I'm not the worst player for a change :D

in that case I probably need about 5 more avatars to do the exploring for me :D my main avatar just runs from one corner of my kingdom to another trying to capture back lost hexes and fight off the ever present intruders (also getting back hexes that just went nuts and did an uprising :D

but, of course, I can never have so many as my funds are low even to keep the dead avatar resurrecting ;)

If you find campaign too difficult even on beginner - try to play single huge map with 2 opponents-beginners (I advise to pick more then one opponent to allow diplomacy, in 1:1 duel there is a permanent war). In such a mode you will have much more time to expand, explore and learn the game.
