Grow stronger turn, by turn.

Eador: Genesis, an impressive turn-based strategy with RPG elements, that sends you on a quest to conquer a shattered realm, is now available on GOG.com, for only $4.79! That's 20% off, this week only!

The world is no longer whole. All that remains are the islands of existence drifting aimlessly through the endless ocean of emptiness and oblivion. This broken realm houses many aspiring despots, hell-bent on uniting the floating shards of land under their own rule. There was, however, no single monarch who could achieve that feat since the time of the cataclysm. That won't stop you from trying, of course. Is it because you're even more hungry for power and wealth then your opponents? Or maybe you see a higher purpose in domination over Eador? Maybe you believe, that the world united under the rule of one strong leader will finally begin to heal? As one of the Masters, you're free to exercise your will however you see fit. But know this: history will judge you.

Eador: Genesis delivers a turn-based strategy experience inspired by the classics of the genre. It's a multi-layered game, equally stressing the importance of your kingdom's development and management, and your tactical battlefield abilities. There's also a strongly accented RPG element, that goes so well with the imaginatively crafted fantasy setting of the game. With over 170 structures to build, 80 magic spells to master, and 70 kinds of units to lead into the battle, each with its own goals and defining characteristic--this title will keep you busy for many long evenings.

Looking for a well-polished turn-based strategy game that's immersive, enthralling, and deep? Get Eador: Genesis, for only $4.79! That's 20% off until the promo ends on Tuesday, December 11, at 10:59AM GMT.
The moment I found out that some bastard stole my credit card (which I will be only able to retore in a month and I do hope Sberbank will burn in hell) I KNEW GOG will add something like Eador pretty soon. Sigh... Well, just you wait, I'll add the game to my collection anyway, mwa-ha-ha!!! *sigh*

For all those guys who wonder if Eador is worth a try let me tell you this - if there is ANY love in your heart for games like Master of Magic, Battle for Wesnoth, Kings Bounty or Heroes of Might and Magic - grab this one it's Awesome. It's one of the rarest occasions when Russian game is damn good (believe me, I played hundreds of those and even took part in development of couple).

Here is one story to convince you. The game for the most part was designed, developed and published by ONE person. But It was so damn good that one Russian publisher approached the creator and bought rights to publish the game officially as well as create a full scale remake of the game in 3D. Btw according to producer of the project the game design is so cool that they simply try to REMAKE the basic game mechanics - not to reinvent them (something I wish was done in some "sequels" of the games of the past).

Anyway - choice is yours, but missing this opportunity would be unwise :)
this is my kind of game, ill buy it for sure.
By the description, I thought it will be a game for me ... and it's definitely amazingly unforgiving (so yep, I dig it).
On a single very small map, there a re a lot of things to do, and in a larger scope it seems like there is a lot of replayability in the campaign.
I spent 2 hours on it and I'm just grasping the basis of the combat mechanics (when to fight, when to retreat, how to keep at least half my troops alive...)

So far, great gameplay, very pleasant graphics (if you're not too allergic to pixellisation) interesting heroes/cities developpement ... at ~4 caps, it's a good deal.
Looks exactly like the kind of game I love!

Bought it twice: One for me to play and the other one for my Christmas Avatar giveaway. Feel free to sign up if you want to have a chance to win this game.
Was playing a russian demo just now and it was fun. I didn't understand a single word and still has a good time, so full version in english should be amazing. Still weird it hasn't multiplayer, even basic one like hot seat.

It does have hotseat, actually
So the mindcontrol drone forced me to buy this game immediately, the only reason why I write this post is that I miss the savegame button and as such my beloved save scumming isn't available.

The best thing about this turn based strategy game is that there isn't a round or time limit.
I hate Battle for Wesnoth, Fantasy Wars and Elven Legacy for that.
Looks pretty cool, wishlisted for now.

There should be an undo turn button .. Somewhere. On top of that, in the game's folder, there's a 'save' folder. It might be worth trying to back it up somewhere if you really want to retain a specific state and then get back to game and continue, overriting the game's save folder with yours if you want to load.

Well it is tbs, but it has nothing in common with the Panzer General style of strategy games like Fantasy Wars which always had a time limit. It bothered me too at first, but after playing them alot, I understand that it is needed.
Nearly 3k views on GOG Youtube channel in less than 13 hours. I say this game has generate quite a buzz despite not everybody's cup of tea. Definitely belong here.

Well it bothers me if those limits are connected to the winning condition or giving you some kind of unbalanced bonus.
I'm a sad little perfectionist and if I finally devised the master strategy to boldly crush the enemy forces and drive them from the battlefield I think I am privileged and entitled enough to wipe out all remaining forces on the map and inherit and reap all applying exp. bonuses and rewards. If the game takes these spoils of war from me, it's not a good game in my eyes.
Game looks pretty good, but I'm curious about the units. Can you stack the units like in HoMM and King's Bounty? I hated that in those games and prefer buying individual units or squads and not just piling up everything.
Been watching the sequels progress for quite a while and was excited to try the older game. First impressions its great!! Lots of stuff to do and so much gameplay. I can see myself playing this for a long time

The units are all individual rather than stacked units. You can have up to probably 15-20 units in a fully upgraded heroes army I think
