Run-n-gun like it's 1990s!

Duke Nukem 1+2, a bundle of two classic 1990s run-and-gun platformers that sparked into a flame of legend, is now available on GOG.com, for only $5.99.

We are not alone in the Universe. In fact, it's swarming with evil alien monsters. The only goal in their existence is to invade our planet, steal our stuff and eat us. Earth isn't doing so well either. Mad scientists hell-bent on world domination. Doomsday devices are a dime a dozen. So, if you were wondering why we're not living under the rule of a crazy scientist and his cybernetic army, or why haven't we been all eaten by aliens--you should know who to thank for all that. Duke Nukem. The bishop of badassery.

Released in the early 1990s, the Duke Nukem 1+2 games defined the standards for the run-and-gun platformer genre on the PC. But not only that. They did much more. They started the career of one of the gaming's most iconic heroes: Duke Nukem. Being great platformers on their own, full of creative level design, exceptional ideas, and tongue-in-cheek humor, they still provide bucketloads of prime entertainment. Before Duke Nukem went 3D, he totally rocked the 2D. Here's your chance to see it for yourself!

Find out why Duke's autobiography was titled "Why I'm so Great", get Duke Nukem 1+2 for only $5.99!

Roman5: Were there any actual version differences? like bonus levels or something on the GBC version?
It was an entirely different game.

Oh god, please no...

Basically the GBC version was a totally different game but it did have multiple analogies to Duke Nukem 2. It opened quite similarly to that one (including the tooth scene in a prison cell) but the major portion of the game was original.
I'll always remember the intro for #2 (Shooting gallery, "I'm Back"). Used to think it was so bad ass as a kid :D
Nice. Wishted.
Hmmm... next week Commander Keen series? O_o

I'm glad the games are on gog and I did like them, but aren't these games freeware already? Where's the price tag coming from?

Hm, I don't know about freeware. Those games have been on sale in 3D Realms' own online store for some time now, for $5.99 EACH, no less.

No, these are not freeware. They were included with the retail version of Duke Nukem 3D, and perhaps they have been available during magazine promos or the like, but I don't know, but they've been sold for years and they're being sold now.

The price tag came from the 3D Realms online store. Actually, that's a lie. The price they charge is currently twice the price offered on GOG, so be grateful.
Nice Addition. Some games released under the Apogee brand at this time have gone freeware, hopefully GOG can get the okay to support them as a few do need some serious tweaking to run on modern systems.

Already got those on my Duke's 3D disk, but good to see those hitting GOG as well, cuz they're damn good games. Waiting for more classics from Apogee!
