JMich: Fighting in exotic locations. That is the hint.
Al-Qadim: The Genie's Curse confirmed! SSI games coming to GOG!!! ;)
A really great game, i bought it from instant kingdom direct pretty early (i think) in its development and didnt regret it. Ville and Anne were kind enough to let me beta test it aswell (im in the credits hehe) though real life meant i couldnt put anywhere near as much time into the test as i wanted to.

I highly recommend people to buy this. I will be getting a GoG copy to go along with my instant kingdoms copy and once im home and had time to look at finances i will try to do a giveaway too but no promises.
Does look nice. The developers have obviously put a lot of hard work into this game.
Part of the demo I watched reminded me a little of Dungeon Siege. So I think I shall wishlist this for now.
Enjoyed the demo, so picking it up.

I wonder if the 15% to Red Cross part works for GOG version, since they have to pay something like 30% (i'm assuming) to GOG instead of taking almost the entire amount from the direct purchase on their website. And GOG version is cheaper anyway because it's in USD instead of EUR.

I do have a question about the combat which I didn't quite figure out from the demo - is damage per hit the only difference between the various melee weapons? Do they all have the same range, attack speed, and "damage type", so there's no reason to keep that 4 dmg whale bone after getting the 4.5 dmg hoe?

RaggieRags: What I was thinking. The meager extras don't really add incentive.

Bloodygoodgames: You can buy the entire soundtrack on their website for 5 bucks -- all proceeds go to the independent musician who composed 15 tracks for this game, and is probably living on not very much money at all.

The developers who created the game are a husband and wife team who, if you buy the game on their website, donate 15 percent of all their proceeds to the Red Cross.

But hey......that doesn't fit in with the current GOG mentality of so many -- "I want a game that lasts at least 40 hours, with a manual, an artbook, the entire soundtrack, bonus DLC and avatars, but I'll only pay 3 bucks for it".

The Me Me Me syndrome of so many on GOG is getting more and more disgusting as time goes on. Whining, complaining and angry because they can't get exactly the game THEY want with exactly the extras THEY want for a price that in most countries won't even buy a goddamn latte.

I need to just turn off my computer as I'm so damn sick of half the people I come across on the internet.

The whining about a fucking GAME drives me insane. Get some REAL problems and then we'll talk. Aaargggghhhh.
You are doing some serious whining, complaining, bitching and moaning for somebody who claims to detest such behavior.

Peace on earth begins with you. :D

Speaking of which - I encourage people to by it directly from the developer -

You get the same game, but cut out the middleman, and instead 15% goes to Red Cross. It is €11.99 there now.

+1. It's very bro of Ville and Anne.

I am, of course, still hoping I get my GOG code eventually :D

If you have the 20% discount from the demo, that should still apply on top of that price.
Looks interesting and neat. Definitely going to share the GOG card and YouTube video on Facebook and Twitter.
Forgot to mention earlier (sorry, was distracted) that this game looks like a lot of fun to me. I'm planning to pick it up myself.

THANK YOU! I wanted to know what game was that for at least 8 years now but I had pretty much nothing to search for!
If it comes to GOG I'm buying it, and if it doesn't I'll find a copy on abandonw... erm, somewhere else until it comes here.

That was one of the buggiest games I have ever played. Absolutely loved the setting, but the game itself was a mess when I played it. Hopefully it had a few patches that fixed the problems.

Certainly! As long as it's something we are able to make happen, we will! (Just not quite today, if it's alright - currently we're still busier than a teacher at spring time!)

Oh and hi everyone! I'm Anne, one of the two Driftmoon developers. I just skimmed through this very nice discussion, and I'm feeling very happy for the warm welcome we've received here at GOG!

Ville and I are both GOG fans (and generally fans of older games), so it's a really big thing for us that Driftmoon is now available through GOG! I'm really excited about it! :) I don't know if you already knew that Driftmoon is inspired by classics like Ultima VII and Baldur's Gate - in fact, quite a few of our players have compared it to those grand titles.

Like I hinted up above, I have quite a few things I should be doing right now, so I can't hang around here quite as diligently as I'd like to do today - but I don't want to completely miss our first appearance at GOG either! So if you have any questions (or feedback/comments/ideas), I'd be happy to pop in every once in a while, and try to answer you to the best of my abilities. :)

I doubt it will come to GOG any time soon, but I'm glad I was of help. :)
