JudasIscariot: Check your account :D. We just uploaded a patch that brings up your Driftmoon install to version 1.001.
avatar
kalirion: Just noticed the update. For those of us who haven't installed the game yet, do we need to run the installer and then the patch, or is the installer already patched?
Installer, then patch.

AnneM: Sorry about that, I may have done a pretty good job hiding them. I take full blame. :P They'll be in different places on different play-throughs too, so you'll never have it quite easy finding them. But then again, if it was too easy, it wouldn't be so much fun when you actually find one!

You could also try changing the view to top-down for a little while if you want. Maybe the goldfish is just lurking behind a some tree trunk! Oh, and make sure to pay attention to the goldfish icon in the upper left corner. If it appears, the goldfish is very close, and it gets bigger as you get closer to the thing. :)

Ps. There's special bonuses involved too when you've found a certain number of those little critters!
I'm not complaining, that's just my obsessive-compulsive disorder bringing the slightly worse out of me :D I love these things, but thanks for explaining how exactly does it work, helps a lot!

and now back to the game... :)

lowyhong: They look like small golden coins that give out a mild gleaming effect.

kalirion: They look like tiny goldfish to me, you know the goldfish cracker type. Very small though, quite easy to miss.

Kunovski: thanks :) I'll try to find them tonight! find them all!!!
Btw, my mistake, I just checked and found out there's no gleaming effect on them. Must have confused them with the silver feathers. And yeah, if you get a close-up of them, they resemble those fish-shaped golden crackers.

Edit: speaking of silver feathers, be sure to move suspicious objects around. You never know when a feather might turn up underneath a sarcophagus ;)

The game is really good. I assume it has little bit Planescape Torment-esque. You can reason your way out of trouble or just go for the more conventional route, by blasting everything standing on your path. Also lots of humour, clever humour not the dirty one.

This is just based on the demo alone, 2 thumbs up. Can't believe there are only 2 people behind the game.

*Spoiler alert*
The Boogeyman caught me by surprise. Very unexpected and clever placement. After all it wasn't that long when your partner muttered something like "This mine isn't that scary". I don't know whether the writer did it intentionally or not. But for me it's working, very clever.

I've got also these strange stuttering while moving in the world.

I've got a pretty good gaming laptop (i5 3210m, gtx 660m, 4Gb ram) and a solid 60 fps (Fraps tested).

Tried to restart after install, patched to 1.001, still no clue.

Playing at 1920 x 1080 + vsync, also tested on 1024x768 with no vsync. Any idea or tips will be welcome !

Oh, and last but not least : AWESOME game. (and, in fact, it's because it's awesome that I want to play it on the best conditions :-D)

EDIT : As an owner of a laptop with optimus tech, I tested both with the integred HD4000 and nvidia videocard, both with no fancy options AND with AA and AF activated.

@Satellite: I've just replied to you in the other thread you mentioned. Let's hope we get to the root of the stuttering problem! :)

@wormholewizards I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed Driftmoon so much. And by the way, that particular character you mentioned in the end of your post is one of my personal favorites (though there are quite many - I guess I've grown fond of them, after getting to know them for such a long time). ;)

you can move sarcophagi too??? :D I've never tried as I've tried to move large cupboards and such and they couldn't be moved... now I have to go back and look for them all! :D

(anyway, I've already heard one NPC tell me that I should find ALL the feathers, that I'll need them... so I do hope that if I miss one or two in the entire game something will still happen. I do love finding all the secrets, but I'm not PERFECT in it :o)

Not all, but most in the Crypts level can be moved ;)

Don't worry about the feathers, you can complete the game with just ten, and even then you can't really get stuck. But they are of course very useful.

I thought it was my mind playing trick. I could swear i heard some noise also saw some kind silhouette. It wasn't scary nor a jump scare when that thing revealed himself but definitely caught me off guard. At first i thought it was a waste of time to travel that far, no reward for player who love exploration but i was wrong.

Plenty of modern Action / RPG on the market guilty of leaving out underdeveloped area with no easter egg, reward or extra which is always a bummer for player who love to take their time on everything and explore the world a bit. So far based on the demo, Driftmoon don't have that flaw. I'm sure the full game will be even better.
Spoiler Alert !

For those who are curious, there are so much beloved references in the library ^^
Started playing last night, only finished the first area (the village) and I'm liking the game, lots of references, humor, a very nice RPG
