If there's a thing more fearsome than a dragon, it's a dragon with a jetpack!

Divinity: Dragon Commander, multi-layered real-time strategy game with a fantastic setting, epic scale, amazing gameplay depth, and many original ideas, is available on GOG.com, for $39.99. You can also get the extensive Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition for a little more, that is $44.99.

What is Divinity: Dragon Commander? Let us put an image in your head. A giant army rushes into battle. First, the scouts, agile and fast, with their bows always ready. Then the cavalry, blazing on their relentless mounts. Then, the heavy infantry--warriors of all the shapes, sizes, and races with their plate armors sounding with every step like the bells of doom. Right behind them, the battle beasts--horrors bred with one purpose only: destruction. Some of them pulling the ballistas, trebuchets, and other siege machines. Above them, a variety of zeppelins and flying machines ready to spread death from above. And then, suddenly, a great shadow falling over the battlefield. A gigantic winged dragon swooping down at lightning speed, propelled by a jetpack, breathing fire and roaring fiercely. An image sure to strike fear in the hearts of the enemies. You, however, have nothing to fear. This is your army, and you are the Dragon, its commander and Emperor. Can you see it now? Can you grasp the scale of the game? Maybe it's better that you saw it with your own eyes.

Divinity: Dragon Commander realease trailer

Divinity: Dragon Commander allows the player to experience war from many unique perspectives, thus breathing new life to real-time strategy genre. The idea to put the gamer in the role of a Dragon commanding its people (and elves, and dwarves, and undead, and--well, creatures) into battle and even taking part in the combat directly is original enough to make the game phenomenally involving. The people who gave you the acclaimed Divinity RPG series decided however, to add a couple more layers to the gameplay. In the game, you'll get to make diplomatic decisions, manage your empire in an epic world-map mode, and even utilize elements of trading card game mechanics. All that and more, coupled with excellent visuals, peculiar humor, and many available scenarios (single-player and multi-player alike), gives the game a potential to become the next big step in the evolution of RTS genre.

Sink your claws into the biggest chunk of full-blooded fantasy real-time strategy out there, with Divinity: Dragon Commander, for only $39.99 on GOG.com! Please note, that if you decide to upgrade your game to the Imperial Edition, you can do so by acquiring the Imperial Edition Upgrade DLC for only $9.99. You can also start with Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition for $44.99, and if you were one of the pre-ordering customers, you already have it.

VanishedOne: Nice to know; I haven't heard back from Larian yet. I wonder whether I should bother waiting.

G-Doc: Not to worry, this will be sorted out. We're investigating the reasons for the mix-up with the codes, and we'll offer a solution to all KS backers.
Awesome! I knew you guys wouldn't let us down!

Crosmando: Wow, I was just playing this game for a bit, and the writing, voice-acting, music are just fantastic, haven't got to the RTS part yet hehe, still trying to figure out how everything works
I've played it too, it's awesome. But can't help but share some gripes. The loading time is really long for combat and the intro animation was pretty choppy. Otherwise it runs smooth even on full details in full HD res.
If I have the Imperial Edition how do I get the golden dragon skin? I've probably missed it somewhere.

Nice to know about this

Fever_Discordia: Well they might still do a classic on Thursday (or something in-betweeny like a high profile indie from 4 years ago or something)
We already have two weeks without a proper classic release, so it's long gone.
Incidentally, I just got off the phone with Larian and they said that they will be issuing all KS backers a fix for updating Dragon Commander Standard edition to the Imperial Edition. It will purportedly be in place within the hour.

Meh, the 1st Penumbra came out 6 years ago, that's 'classic' enough for me

The previous week was a little more barren for classics though but neither Amnesia or Brutal Legend are that new (OK the PC version of BL is but its 4 years old across all formats)

Saying that, though, if GOG is stuck why don't the just release more of the Gorky series as they own the devs? Unless there's even worse technical issues with them than the first one...

Every game is a classic then.

Can you tell me about the languages ? The game card says English, French and several other languages but the download page says English and Russian.

Dragon Commander isn't - its brand new!

Seriously though, I really didn't mind the Frictional Games titles filling the 'classic' slot the last couple of weeks as they've been around on other DD sites for years and GOG it obviously just filling in the glaring blanks during the quite summer period, don't really expect anything earth shattering until 'This week on GOG' is back, be nice if some really old and / or obscure stuff they don't really expect to sell turned up or more some completing of series like Settlers 1 or Emporer: Rise of the Middle Kingdom (City Builder series) though

Hehe, I'll be downloading this right now. I might start and see how it is (and if my laptop can play it :P), but I have other games to play and finish first :D

Cheers. It seems that they've made the upgrade available as a Larian Vault voucher: not as neat as a GOG code would have been, since it spreads the game across two download sites, but at least I have it now.

Well, the game is only in english despite the false advertising on the product page, can I have a refund or something?
One of only two games I have ever pre-ordered, and both happen to have been from GOG. So far so good, I was a bit annoyed by the whole censored version thing I ended up with when I pre-ordered Witcher 2 here.

Very happy with the FLAC soundtrack waiting for me to download.

What about the extras that are available in the Imperial Edition (behind the scenes, soundtrack...) ?

Also, the fix is available in the Larian Vault, I received a mail about it a few minutes ago (but I don't need it as I correctly received a Imperial Edition on GOG).

The video is included as a Vault download.

No soundtrack, unless it's part of the main Imperial addon download. Ditto for concept art, etc.
