If there's a thing more fearsome than a dragon, it's a dragon with a jetpack!

Divinity: Dragon Commander, multi-layered real-time strategy game with a fantastic setting, epic scale, amazing gameplay depth, and many original ideas, is available on GOG.com, for $39.99. You can also get the extensive Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition for a little more, that is $44.99.

What is Divinity: Dragon Commander? Let us put an image in your head. A giant army rushes into battle. First, the scouts, agile and fast, with their bows always ready. Then the cavalry, blazing on their relentless mounts. Then, the heavy infantry--warriors of all the shapes, sizes, and races with their plate armors sounding with every step like the bells of doom. Right behind them, the battle beasts--horrors bred with one purpose only: destruction. Some of them pulling the ballistas, trebuchets, and other siege machines. Above them, a variety of zeppelins and flying machines ready to spread death from above. And then, suddenly, a great shadow falling over the battlefield. A gigantic winged dragon swooping down at lightning speed, propelled by a jetpack, breathing fire and roaring fiercely. An image sure to strike fear in the hearts of the enemies. You, however, have nothing to fear. This is your army, and you are the Dragon, its commander and Emperor. Can you see it now? Can you grasp the scale of the game? Maybe it's better that you saw it with your own eyes.

Divinity: Dragon Commander realease trailer

Divinity: Dragon Commander allows the player to experience war from many unique perspectives, thus breathing new life to real-time strategy genre. The idea to put the gamer in the role of a Dragon commanding its people (and elves, and dwarves, and undead, and--well, creatures) into battle and even taking part in the combat directly is original enough to make the game phenomenally involving. The people who gave you the acclaimed Divinity RPG series decided however, to add a couple more layers to the gameplay. In the game, you'll get to make diplomatic decisions, manage your empire in an epic world-map mode, and even utilize elements of trading card game mechanics. All that and more, coupled with excellent visuals, peculiar humor, and many available scenarios (single-player and multi-player alike), gives the game a potential to become the next big step in the evolution of RTS genre.

Sink your claws into the biggest chunk of full-blooded fantasy real-time strategy out there, with Divinity: Dragon Commander, for only $39.99 on GOG.com! Please note, that if you decide to upgrade your game to the Imperial Edition, you can do so by acquiring the Imperial Edition Upgrade DLC for only $9.99. You can also start with Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition for $44.99, and if you were one of the pre-ordering customers, you already have it.

Just for fun. :) Can anyone name the original ideas? (Elves, dwarfs, undead, ... do not count)
Dragons.... with jetpacks!

Also Elves.... with gay marriage policies!

I get a 403 error when I attempt to download it through my browser and this message "Unable to fetch data, try again later!" when I try to use GOG's downloader.

Aww is that it for today?
Pre-order releases are often 'extra' releases and Tuesday is usually 'classic release' day

Fesin: ... Dragons with jetpacks.
hah, plagiarism of http://mutekicorp.com/games/sjd4/

No, okay. I would count that as one original idea, although not an overwhelming one, regarding gameplay. :)

deadfolk: ...How about a lipstick-wearing skeleton, then?...
Seems genuine, at least I cannot remember another game with skeletons and lipssticks in it, not even Grim Fandango.
:)

Yeah, remember when TET promised there will be at least one classic release every week? Well, it's gone ;-)

You've been setting this up from the beginning, haven't you?

Nah, I guess the original gameplay comes mainly from the blend of many different genres, like RPG, action, grand strategy, RTS, etc. and not so much from the setting.

Ok, thx! Good to know it is only another "new hidden feature" of the website, hope it will be sorted out soon, I am quite patient :D

Yeah, that's a sort of not-so-nice feature. I think they originally didn't intend to release such a thing, but since the game's release got postponed by a month, they added this for free for all preorders to compensate (that's how I read the situation anyway). Maybe it should've been just left as a preorder bonus.

For those with download troubles, see this post: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/dragon_commander/post44
Weren't all the Divinity:Original Sin Kickstarter backers supposed to receive Imperial Edition keys? The one I've gotten unlocked the "regular version" for me.

I'm not that bothered, just curious.

Thank you! It works! (the fix is: refresh your account by going to this site https://secure.gog.com/account/refresh/ )
I got the game and it's great. Thanks, guys!
I'm missing a couple of features I've hoped for but I'll get over it eventually.
Btw, even though I preordered I didn't get the bonus games? No email with the codes or anything.
Great release with lots of bonuses. Well done!

Same here. Contacted Larian and they said 'Contact GOG'. I did, and I'm just waiting to see what they come back with.

xep624: Fully priced game in Australia for $40?? Just a few years ago it used to be $100... Steam and gog have spoiled gamers a bit....

Crosmando: Wait, ppl in Aus still buy fully priced physical retail games with GST tacked on? Morons gonna moron I guess
The shop EB games is still open for business. They have a lot of sales there but new games for PC are still around $80 for basic editions. Some "collectors editions" are over $100 easily... Examples: Rome Total War 2 - $88, Battlefield 4 $88 or $98, Company of Heroes 2 $78, Splinter Cell Blacklist $78 or $108, Assassins Creed 4 $118 or $78...
