If there's a thing more fearsome than a dragon, it's a dragon with a jetpack!

Divinity: Dragon Commander, multi-layered real-time strategy game with a fantastic setting, epic scale, amazing gameplay depth, and many original ideas, is available on GOG.com, for $39.99. You can also get the extensive Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition for a little more, that is $44.99.

What is Divinity: Dragon Commander? Let us put an image in your head. A giant army rushes into battle. First, the scouts, agile and fast, with their bows always ready. Then the cavalry, blazing on their relentless mounts. Then, the heavy infantry--warriors of all the shapes, sizes, and races with their plate armors sounding with every step like the bells of doom. Right behind them, the battle beasts--horrors bred with one purpose only: destruction. Some of them pulling the ballistas, trebuchets, and other siege machines. Above them, a variety of zeppelins and flying machines ready to spread death from above. And then, suddenly, a great shadow falling over the battlefield. A gigantic winged dragon swooping down at lightning speed, propelled by a jetpack, breathing fire and roaring fiercely. An image sure to strike fear in the hearts of the enemies. You, however, have nothing to fear. This is your army, and you are the Dragon, its commander and Emperor. Can you see it now? Can you grasp the scale of the game? Maybe it's better that you saw it with your own eyes.

Divinity: Dragon Commander realease trailer

Divinity: Dragon Commander allows the player to experience war from many unique perspectives, thus breathing new life to real-time strategy genre. The idea to put the gamer in the role of a Dragon commanding its people (and elves, and dwarves, and undead, and--well, creatures) into battle and even taking part in the combat directly is original enough to make the game phenomenally involving. The people who gave you the acclaimed Divinity RPG series decided however, to add a couple more layers to the gameplay. In the game, you'll get to make diplomatic decisions, manage your empire in an epic world-map mode, and even utilize elements of trading card game mechanics. All that and more, coupled with excellent visuals, peculiar humor, and many available scenarios (single-player and multi-player alike), gives the game a potential to become the next big step in the evolution of RTS genre.

Sink your claws into the biggest chunk of full-blooded fantasy real-time strategy out there, with Divinity: Dragon Commander, for only $39.99 on GOG.com! Please note, that if you decide to upgrade your game to the Imperial Edition, you can do so by acquiring the Imperial Edition Upgrade DLC for only $9.99. You can also start with Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition for $44.99, and if you were one of the pre-ordering customers, you already have it.

Great ! That's exactly what I thought would happen. Larian made a quick-fix in order to satisfy users as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, users were complaining that they were obliged to use two stores to have their full version. Sometimes, a little patience helps :-)

I would have prefered an earlier notice for the language packs but it's okay.

I don't mean to play it right now anyway as I like to play my games patched and have some backlog to keep me busy at nights.
ive got the DLC link for downloading in my account but when i install it its not adding any content to the game no skin no earth map nothing

Drop a note to Support, if you could. They should be able to help you out.

In my case, the redeem page tells me: 'To redeem Imperial Edition - Upgrade you need to own Divinity: Dragon Commander'. Which, of course, I do, but for some reason it thinks otherwise. Back to Support...

I've got the same issue, I got the email from support with my code, and even though I'm looking at my standard dragon commander in my collection now, it says I need to own Dragon commander to redeem the upgrade

deadfolk: Same here.
Got the same message and emailed support.
Pre-ordered on Steam (it was way cheaper for me there (R$ < US$) and the free games GOG offered I already had here) and I'm not regretting one bit. I've played for a couple of hours (finishing the first chapter now) and I had only one crash that went away as soon as I moved the texture detail to medium (I've ignored the warning that said it would cause system instability if I used it on High because my PC could not handle that kind of load).

The game was bug free from there (up until now) and it runs smooth (only a couple of fps spikes here and there but for the most part it remains between 50 to 60 fps on my 560Ti with all settings enabled and on high with the exception of Textures as I've mentioned above.

The dialog range from cheesy (probably intended) to clever to funny and the game NEVER takes itself seriously (why should it? You have a Dragon with a Jetpack for God's sake =P)

At first you want to kick every character in the teeth because they insult you and you have no option to tell to fuck off. But after your first battle (if you win) they start to like you more (some more than others).

The Strategic Map and the battles themselves are very simplistic if you compare them with true Grand Strategy Games like the Total War series, for example, but, they get the job done with efficency. Also, they are not the focus of the game and they did not bore me yet. Also, Total War doesn't let you control a Dragon (or marry a female Skeleton haha!)

Dragon combat is very, very fluid and you feel powerful indeed. You feel so powerful that you WILL get cocky and forget that your Dragon is NOT invincible and can die rather quickly if you are not careful. So, while you ARE powerful, the Dragon does not feel as overpowered as I've thought.

While the units are lacking in the personality department (all of them are mechanical and look 'the same') their abilities and roles make up for it. I'm not that far into the game yet, but when I look at the research tree I clearly see potential for many different approaches in battle. (Easier battles you can just steamroll the AI, but the harder ones require actual tactics)

TheEnigmaticT: please sit tight. Larian is building us the foreign language versions as fast as they can
Obviously not fast enough. Day 2 after release gone for me and I feel kind of cheated. Is it really a to big demand to get an flawless release for the money I gave?
Hi everyone,

We are currently uploading the German, French, and Russian versions of Dragon Commander. We apologize for what's been happening in regards to the language issue but we are working as fast as we can to get the languages to you.

Thank you for your patience.
A few questions.

1.How big are the available maps?
2.How big is the "Earth" map and is it the map of the 5 continents or what?
3.I know there are "random" games in terms of story or with no story enabled for the campaign, but, what about maps? Is there a random map generator? What about choosing starting placement?
4.On the largest map, how long would a typical game last, including average number of RTS battles?
5..If the Dragon dies while in a battle, do you die? Lose the game? (It would be nice)
6. Are the military units customized in terms of weapons and other systems?
7.How many difficulty settings are there and is the AI good enough?
8. I have ZERO interest in the multiplayer aspect, is there enough game for those who want a single player strategy game?
9.Not really a question, but, seeing how this game combines elements of Dragon's Breath and Storm Master (two great strategy games of the 16bit home computers era), I wonder if there are any easter eggs regarding those two games or not.
