Sometimes, true love just falls from the sky!

Deponia, a gorgeous adventure game that feels like a cartoon based on works of Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams, is now available on GOG.com for only $14.99 until Thursday, September 13 at 10:59 AM GMT.

Rufus would have been a nice guy, really. That is, if he wasn't such a self-important, all-knowing jerk. But hey! Living your whole life in the middle of a junkyard can do that to you. Why does he live in a junkyard, you might ask. Well, it's not like he had much choice. The whole surface of the planet Deponia is covered with a thick layer of trash. That's why our ambitious protagonist always dreamed of getting into one of the upper spheres, where the privileged part of Deponia's population leads a life full of luxurious bliss, probably even unaware of the garbage piles below. But everything is about to change, as a girl named Goal suddenly falls from the cities above with a warning of impending doom.

Deponia is a top-notch point-and-click adventure game from the makers of The Whispered World. It combines the classic adventure game controls with beautiful cartoony graphics and heaps of brilliant humor. The garbage-filled planet Deponia, with all of its gadgets and gizmos, is one of the most captivating, original settings ever to be featured in a video game. With hundreds of challenging puzzles, tons of witty and skillfully enacted dialogs, and amazing cinematic cut-scenes, Deponia is a game that every adventure fan should experience.

Join Rufus and Goal on their voyage through the mystifyingly beautiful garbage-filled landscapes of Deponia, for only $14.99 in the release week!

Erm... werid.

Also, nice job rubbing in Harvey's New Eyes lack of English release.
low rated
supposedly it's a very good adventure game, but i cannot stand its visual style.
Very nice release.

I've read a few reviews on this that rave about how beautiful the game is and how fun the gameplay, so I've had my eye on it for a bit. Nice to see it on GOG.

Wish listing for now, but will hopefully be picking it up in the next couple of weeks. Thanks GOG :)

Okay, I don't get that.

I see comments like that all the time and I just don't understand why people don't like cartoons, as that's what it is. It's gorgeous, btw, and exactly the type of game I love to play.

And btw, I'm not being obnoxious :) Just curious as to what's so bad about this type of visual style as I love it???

Feeling just like you on this matter. I have a problem with games when the art seems designed for children. And this is very often the case with many indies releases on GOG lately, especially in the adventure games section. Seems to me they are aiming at the kinder-garden. Thankfully, it's definitely not the case with Inquisitor !

It looks interesting and I like English dubbing (definitely better than in The Whispered World *shudder*). I wonder if it supports:
1) windowed mode;
2) 1080p.
EDIT: Demo supports both.

Google told me it's circa 10 hours long which isn't so bad. Also Metacritic reviews are in favor :).

In my language, in my language. Need to "kaufen", "sofort". :)
I recently purchased the retail version of Deponia... So far, it's fantastic, don't hesitate to buy it!

On a related note, about Harvey's New Eyes - an English release would be appreciated.

2MB but 4GB is recommended?

And yet adults like comic books. How strange :)

No one will need more than 640k...
Looks nice - at a certain point I'll buy it - as for now I focus on classic catalog.
Cool addition! Wishlisted only because I'm currently short of free time. I guess we'll see Edna Bricht Aus soon :o)

Maybe we can also expect to get the Walking Dead complete series from Telltale when it's complete ;)
