A delightful mixture of tower defense and RPG.

Defender's Quest, a highly addictive mixture of tower defense and role-playing game set in a world shattered by mysterious disease, is now available 33% off on GOG.com. That's only $9.99 until Tuesday, November 6, at 10:59 AM GMT.

The Kingdom of Ash was not a nice place to live. The mysterious Plague decimated the citizens and the war seemed to have no end. The court librarian Azra, however, led a peaceful life buried in her books and shielded from all grisly matters by the castle walls. Then all of a sudden--she was ill. As all of the Plague victims she was tossed into The Pit by the royal watchmen. Never she would suspect the horrors that awaited her in this underworld of villainy, necromancy, and greed. But she survived, mysteriously cured of her illness. Now, with newly-gained mystical powers and a party of allies, she has to follow her destiny.

In the times where tower defense games are a dime a dozen, Defender's Quest really stands out from the crowd. This game is to tower defense games as Puzzle Quest is to the match three genre. The RPG elements make it immensely enjoyable and add layers upon layers of strategic planning, character development, and intriguing storyline. These are no simple towers defending the battlefield in this one. These are characters you'll grow invested in. There are multitude of settings that let you control every aspect of their behavior in battle. Should the archer target the weakest enemy, or should she spam her arrows randomly causing damage to the whole horde of your foes? Should your berserker develop his ability to attack three monsters with one blow or concentrate on his HP regeneration ability? A seemingly simple strategic decision could easily turn the tide of a battle!

Gather a party, master your skills, crush monsters, hoard loot, and survive the onslaught while you set out on the Defender's Quest, for only $9.99.
Worth giving the demo a play. I had wishlisted the game, then during lunchbreak played the demo, then finally thought "sod it" and bought it.

A charming and surprisingly catchy game.
wishlisted, game looks fantastic but i will wait for 50% sale :)
Hey, just wanted to let everyone know I'm sending out GOG keys to all our old customers. It will likely take about 20 hours to send them all out, as I have 10,000+ recipients and I have to send them in batches of 500 / hour.

Please check your spam folder, and if you're on Gmail, mark it as "NOT SPAM" if it winds up in there, because Gmail has an adaptive spam filter and if enough people do this, it can keep it out of everyone's spam folders.
Just bit the bullet after a bit of consideration. I really like it. The storyline/dialog in the cutscenes is quite amusing.

Not that I own this game but good stuff anyway, kudos :)

The characters are actually quite good, aren't they. This game surprised me on many levels.
Great news, thanks Lars!

@mistermumbles: the writing gets even quirkier and funnier in NG+ ;)
It seems there was a secret santa overnight in my mail account and left something for me ;-) Thanks again for all the effort and the service.

I just redeemed the new version here and I wanted to express my gratitude for this exemplary customer support. Thank you, Lars & GOG, you guys rock! :)
Any word yet on the situation for people that bought it via Kongregate?
Cute graphics. Wishlisted.
@Garugo:

I can't provide keys for Kong users, unfortunately. It's purely technical - there's so many previous customers, I need an automated solution, and I don't have any way to identify Kong users by email address.

So, we're doing the next best thing for Kong users - you'll get a DRM free downloadable copy of he game, as well as the soundtrack. We'll provide the secured link for it directly in the Kong version of Defender's Quest in a patch we'll put out early next week.

Well that's unfortunate, but I'm glad to hear you're able to do something for those that bought it from there. Looking forward to being able to play it offline soon while listening to the great soundtrack! Thank you for the response, and keep up the good work with your games. :)

Kudos. You seem to be doing an awful lot of work for your already existing customer base. They better appreciate it!

Also, I'm a new customer from this very site, and I just wanted to say I really like your game. It's gotten a good deal tougher a lot quicker than I expected though. Still good fun though. :)
