Featuring music by Jeremy Soule.

Consortium: The Master Edition, a high-tech Sci-Fi adventure combining RPG and first-person shooter gameplay, is available 40% off on GOG.com. That's only $11.99 for the next 48 hours!

Game One of the iDGi-1 Trilogy. Taking place entirely aboard a massive futuristic aircraft, CONSORTIUM is a first person science-fiction role-playing experience unlike any other. The story begins in our world - the "real world" - where we here at Interdimensional Games have developed a satellite (iDGi-1) capable of opening a digital rift through time and space… Anyone can log on and travel through this rift and awaken within an alternate dimension from our own - the "game world" - in the year 2042.

In Consortium: The Master Edition you'll act as detective investigating an on-board murder, while simultaneously playing peacemaker to a large band of mercenaries who seem to want YOU dead. Or play diplomacy with a smoking barrel, and let the tragedies continue to mount. The story unfolds based largely on your actions. You may use diplomacy and talk your way through the entire game - never shooting anyone! OR, decide to use deadly or non-lethal force. The game features an all original orchestral score by award winning composer Jeremy Soule (available as a bonus MP3 download)!

Step through the digital rift and prepare for one of the most original gaming adventures you've ever had, with Consortium: The Master Edition for only $11.99 on GOG.com. The special 40% release discount offer lasts until Thursday, May 1, at 9:59AM GMT.

MJVandershonk: I've looked on a couple of sites and they all say vista/7/8.

My guess is its probably a 4gb memory / 32bit thing over a DX10 requirement since the steam store page has this note:

"Additional Notes: Of the maximum 4GB of addressable memory space on a 32-bit system (2 ^ 32 = 4,294,967,296 bytes = 4GB), Windows reserves 2GB. This leaves any application (such as Consortium) with a maximum of 2GB to play with. During loading, Consortium can allocate up to 1.8GB worth of memory. If you are running Consortium with a 32 bit machine, be sure to close as many other simultaneously running programs as you can, otherwise "out of memory" crashes may occur"

ReynardFox: Thanks for the info mate.

It looks decent, but I can't imagine what about it needs such a steep overhead, sounds like poorly optimized memory management on behalf of the programmers to me.
Hopefully, I won't be running into this problem...
Can someone who bought it confirm how many tracks on the soundtrack come with the GOG edition?.

JudasIscariot: 50 tracks :)
Beat me to it. I haven't bought it yet so I was going to say between 1 and 100. Now I can't be smug.

Charon121: I'm still on the fence about this one, but the price is appealing. Anyone knows how long the promo will last?
I was still on the fence, but it was becoming uncomfortable, a bit of wire was sticking into me so I got off and bought a copy. Will have to wait until I play the game to see if the act of getting off the fence lead to that bit of wire causing further injury :)

That depends on whether you fell into a bed of beautiful soothing flowers or into a pile of manure. :) But the reviews are good enough, so there's no reason to worry. I think I'll get it too.
Looks super interesting, will wishlist for now!
Ah well, I did vow to support GOG in their turn-around, as well as new devs that were making interesting games, so I went ahead and bought it. The discount didn't hurt either. ;)
As much as I want to buy I'm going to have to wait at least until the second one arrives. Paranoia sets in when a 'part 1 of x' shows up and I'm expected have faith in completion of the other parts. I don't know, it's a little difficult to explain.
Interesting.
I'd buy it, if it wasn't for the whole episodic thing. I'm not so sure I want to wait years to see the conclusion and have forgotten the journey along the way.

I guess I'll have a look if it's worth it when/if they release a second installment in the future.

Where does it say that it's episodic?

I'm still sitting on fence as well.I'm wondering about the episodic comment as well.I don't remember them mentioning going down that path.....

Huh, I just interpreted that as them making a trilogy of games.

That being said, I heard that this game has 8-ish hours of gameplay, which is much more generous than most other episodic games.
