Featuring music by Jeremy Soule.

Consortium: The Master Edition, a high-tech Sci-Fi adventure combining RPG and first-person shooter gameplay, is available 40% off on GOG.com. That's only $11.99 for the next 48 hours!

Game One of the iDGi-1 Trilogy. Taking place entirely aboard a massive futuristic aircraft, CONSORTIUM is a first person science-fiction role-playing experience unlike any other. The story begins in our world - the "real world" - where we here at Interdimensional Games have developed a satellite (iDGi-1) capable of opening a digital rift through time and space… Anyone can log on and travel through this rift and awaken within an alternate dimension from our own - the "game world" - in the year 2042.

In Consortium: The Master Edition you'll act as detective investigating an on-board murder, while simultaneously playing peacemaker to a large band of mercenaries who seem to want YOU dead. Or play diplomacy with a smoking barrel, and let the tragedies continue to mount. The story unfolds based largely on your actions. You may use diplomacy and talk your way through the entire game - never shooting anyone! OR, decide to use deadly or non-lethal force. The game features an all original orchestral score by award winning composer Jeremy Soule (available as a bonus MP3 download)!

Step through the digital rift and prepare for one of the most original gaming adventures you've ever had, with Consortium: The Master Edition for only $11.99 on GOG.com. The special 40% release discount offer lasts until Thursday, May 1, at 9:59AM GMT.

Crosmando: I backed this during the Kickstarter, got keys for Steam and Humble, haven't played it yet though (it's on my list).

I hope we can get GOG keys too.

Tarhiel: I think I´ve read in the Kickstarter comment section that backers won´t get GOG keys, because the DRM-free pormise was kept through offering you Humble Bundle key - same situation like with Broken Age. I suppose they just don´t have that much money left - to pay for key for every backer.
Has there been any kick starter project which ended up giving DRM free download via humble AND Gogkeys?.... Those of us who back these projects ought to be more vocal about prefering DRM free via Gog (I wouldn't disagree if Gog decided to jump the gun and have some sort of agreement early)

Well, I will definitely form now on send polite (!) PM messages, where I would ask preferably for GOG key for Kickstarters backed by me..
It is not a bad idea to let developers know.
Decided against backing this back then, but I did say I'd consider pre-ordering/buying it if it comes to GOG. Will buy it tomorrow, then! =)
Great to see it on GOG!

And hopefully it will be successful enough, so the trilogy can be completed ;)

JudasIscariot: Hi all,

Got word from the developer:

Please be aware that there is a new version of the game coming that will invalidate in-progress saves. Saves with the game completed will NOT be affected :)

Thank you for reading :)
Hey guys,

I wanted to quickly let you know that save games will NOT be affected by the patch tomorrow. We originally thought it would, but thankfully they will not.

Thanks!

JudasIscariot: All the extra content is in the iDGi Discoveries pack and, of course, the soundtrack :)
Wow, thanks! I have this wishlisted appropriately. :D
I found out about the KS too late to back it and had completely missed that the game (well part 1) had already been released. So I'm very pleased to see it come here. I will pick it up for sure tomorrow. The only slight disappointment is that Jeremy Soule's music is in MP3 and not FLAC
Really happy this is out. I was one of the many people who backed this project and contributed to the game's story. Glad to know that the Master Edition FINALLY dealt with enough of the bugs that it's a completely playable experience now.

I just got a reply from them via a message, and they said they're looking into it. So I wouldn't rule it out yet.
This looks pretty fascinating. Wishlisted for now. Thanks for another interesting release! :)
Hi everyone. My name is Bob, and i'm on of the writers on the project. If you have any questions, or run into any technical issues, post them here and I will do my best to answer them!

(I can provide verification via the Steam forums if it is needed).

Hi! I just sent you a PM with questions.

But I do have a question for here:

How was the story making process?

Collaborative. The game was certainly not written in a bubble, and it's always important to have others to share ideas with.

ReynardFox: Is there no Windows XP support at all? :/
avatar
MJVandershonk: I've looked on a couple of sites and they all say vista/7/8.

My guess is its probably a 4gb memory / 32bit thing over a DX10 requirement since the steam store page has this note:

"Additional Notes: Of the maximum 4GB of addressable memory space on a 32-bit system (2 ^ 32 = 4,294,967,296 bytes = 4GB), Windows reserves 2GB. This leaves any application (such as Consortium) with a maximum of 2GB to play with. During loading, Consortium can allocate up to 1.8GB worth of memory. If you are running Consortium with a 32 bit machine, be sure to close as many other simultaneously running programs as you can, otherwise "out of memory" crashes may occur"
Thanks for the info mate.

It looks decent, but I can't imagine what about it needs such a steep overhead, sounds like poorly optimized memory management on behalf of the programmers to me.

I'm still on the fence about this one, but the price is appealing. Anyone knows how long the promo will last?
