Drunken robots, nuclear bombs, what can possibly go wrong?

CLARC, a charming, grid-based puzzle game with fast-paced arcade action, is now available for $5.99 (25% off the full price) on GOG.com until 7:59 PM GMT 22 May 2014.

Have you ever been the only sober guy at a raucous party? It's tough being the designated savior of a factory full of robots who found out that diesel not only works as a fuel but also gets them drunk three sheets to the wind. With the supervising supercomputer gone missing, the rowdy robots have stopped working altogether. All of them except our humble hero, Clarc. It's up to him to save the day as a gigantic spaceship that seems to specialize in dismantling out-of-control nuclear bomb factories arrives to spoil the party. He'll have to break his programming, rescue his co-workers, and save the girl (she's literally the bomb!) while solving a slew of mind-bending puzzles.

Join CLARC on his puzzling adventure to save his friends and his girl for only $5.99 (25% of the full price) until 7:59 PM GMT 22 May 2014.
Aw my. Look, I get it, everyone loved Wall-E, but this... this is just shameless. Could they be any more blatant? The game itself maybe fine, maybe great even, but it's impossible to look at it and not think "what a brazen rip-off". I'd recommend getting at least a new cover graphic, so that it's not as distastefully obvious.

Rhineland: Wall-E! ♥
I thought it was Wall-E's dog
it does look kind of cool though I keep thinking of Fritz Lang when I look at some of those stills.
After watching the trailer I can't help but recognize this as sorta a reboot of an older game. It was an MSDOS game as I recall, called Alex and his robotic dog (I think, could have been bob, or Robert or something too), which does very similar puzzles with similar results. Tried to find it and can't; maybe only a demo was ever released...

Still looks a bit fun...
This looks TOUGH. Dunno if my brain is properly equipped.
Looks pretty cool! Does it work with an Xbox 360 Controller by any chance?

You know what they say. At this point, the vast majority of ideas that you'll have, even those that seem original to you, will have been explored.

If you're really creative, you may come with an original permutation of ideas, but the building blocs of your creation, taken individually, will be found elsewhere and you'll be really hard pressed not to make it so.

Heck, I do role-playing games for a bunch of teens at a youth center and sometime, I'll throw something in the game and my players will tell me "oh like this movie/book/game". At times, I won't know the reference they give me, but often, I will be familiar with the reference they are citing and I will be left to wonder if my prior exposure to it unconsciously influenced my creative process.

We tend not to be as original as we'd like to think we are. I wouldn't necessarily assume the worst because the protagonist of the game has some similarities to Wall-E.

For my part, Wall-E didn't come to mind when I sat the footage of the game and for all we know, maybe it didn't come to the artsts' mind either... at least not consciously.

Looks like a lot of fun! I would've wishlisted if I wasn't so bad at puzzle games. :(
Meh, if there's any ripoff involving WallE going on it was WallE ripping off Johnny5 from Short Circuit. At least CLARC has legs. WallE even ripped off the tank treads of Johnny5.

Grr, dang it! Now I've got that stupid El Debarge song stuck in my head...
What a happy surprise. Instabought!
Would be even better when GOG could distribute the mobile version too.
The game is awesome on the Android tablet.
Thanks for the fun.
Heh, seeing another indie-style game made me ponder why GOG might be having problems dealing with big publishers, and the metaphor of "pulling teeth" came into my head. Maybe, for some reason, working with them is now like pulling teeth :-P, though I'm not sure why virtually all of them would now be difficult to work with.
so how's this game? is it fun?

The first time I saw Wall-E... nah, that's not right... EVERY time I see Wall-E, "Number 5" comes to my mind. Have a look for yourself:
