The Armageddon starts with C.

Carmageddon Max Pack, the game of ruthless racing rivalry and motorized metal mayhem is now available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

Ah, automobile racing! Such a classy sport. The pinnacle of friendly rivalry, fair play, and finesse. There's quite no other activity a gentleman could enjoy more on a Sunday afternoon in the company of his good chums. I know there are some unprogressive circles proclaiming automobile racing to be brutish, morally corrupt, and unworthy of a true gentleman. I say! It's hard to understand all that public controversy surrounding our favorite pastime. Some accidents are bound to happen, but risk is a crucial ingredient of every elite entertainment. It's certainly not like we are putting anyone but ourselves in the harm's way. The thought that a gentleman driver could run over a pedestrian with his automobile is simply... pedestrian. I can't imagine how this noble sport could ever become unfair, not to mention brutal. Absurd notion, I say. Absurd!
--Sir Harold M. Damage, April 1908, Dullbottomshire

Carmageddon Max Pack, a dynamic racing game with original vehicles, exaggerated car damage model, (un)realistic physics engine, and little to no rules, embodies all the fears of early auto racing contestators. With deviously designed tracks, oddball drivers, and wheeled monstrosities that pass for cars, this game will entertain you just as much as it will shock you. The Max Pack edition includes the original Carmageddon and the Splat Pack expansion. You have to see it for yourself. But before you go, here's a little pro tip: the best way to make sure that no one reaches the finish line before you do is to make sure that no one reaches it at all. In other words--don't hold back!

Gentlemen... uh... people... uh... well... Drivers! Start your engines and roll out for the Carmageddon Max Pack, for only $9.99!

We'd like to thank the members of the amazing Carmageddon community, especially Toshiba-3 and hifi. Thank you, guys! Your contribution to the release of Carmageddon on GOG.com will never be forgotten.

ATTENTION Kickstarter backers of Carmageddon revival project: your codes have been already sent to Stainless, they should support you with them shortly!

I have so fond memories of this game. It was awesome.
Also probably the most obvious parenting mistake my dad made. We were in a game shop and I asked for Carmageddon and he bought it for me. I was around 10-12 back then. Fun times.
One word:

AWESOMEFANTASTICSTUPEDOUSOUTSTANDINGGNARLYFORMIDABLEGREAT!!

That's all I have to say about that.
Oh. my. fucking. god.

So who from the forums is on that Carmaggedon on GOG video? Apart from the usual franks we already knew from the conferences.

Also I'd like to mention I don't like over-the-net multiplayer games but I'd definitely like to play this against strangers over the net. Rage (for PS3 and PC) is similar but not the same thing.

Strijkbout: But if Stainless release it now they won't have anything to bribe us with for their next Kickstarter project. ;)
You're right. Shit.

GOG.com: The Armageddon starts with C.
Now, what starts with the letter C?... Carmageddon starts with C! Let's think up other things that start with C!

P.S. I've received my redeem code and am now a happy camper. Thank you!

tfishell: Nice! (But of course, as TET has said about PC gaming, so many configurations can cause problems.) I'd love to see a list of which games are using nGlide. (Maybe I'll create a new thread about that.
Here is the official compability list: http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide/compatibility
At last! Instead of just destroying dumb robots, I can finally run over actual peop... I mean enjoy this fine racing game in it's original version.

At least, when I'm able to buy and download it. Which isn't now. But in the near future...

BadDecissions: I'm not excited either; in general, I shy away from games whose main selling point seems to be "Aren't I shocking?"
Sure, there is some rather juvenile "look I'm so shocking!" thing going on with that game, but aside from that it's genuinely fun. I had a blast when I was just running over robots, which isn't a thing with a high shock factor.

Man, I had forgotten how much I hated the winter races... >:O
Good fun so far, but this game is much more challenging than I thought it would be. (playing on normal) Getting extra time for running down people/animals seems a bit morbid, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. ;)

To think people were offended by Carmageddon's violence seems so silly nowadays. It's so over the top who can take this seriously?

I get that from all older games on both counts. Games of yesteryear were much more challenging. Today I was playing "Hard Reset" and it kept rewarding me for finding secrets when all I did is check corners and behind objects.

And regarding the violence, definitely we've desensitized ourselves to a degree. Carmageddon was a big shocker when it came out, but since then much worse has been done. It's funny thinking that Duke Nukem 3D was a huge deal b/c of its violene and language. LOL by today's standards it's family friendly.

GOG should release Localization Patches... if someone thinks, it is not fun to drive over people, install the german localization and have robots instead :)

...or you could add just one line to .conf file and have zombies / robots.

Oh, I don't know. Otherwise, you would have to go to your account, find game box, click on it, click on patch link, download file AND execute it.

Much more hassle :P
