No place for cowards, really!

Braveland, an adorable but nonetheless epic turn-based strategy full of fantasy, charm, and clever tactics, is available DRM-free for Windows and Mac OS X on GOG.com, for only $4.99.

Braveland is a turn-based game inspired by old-school strategies with hexagonal battlefield. You will start as a humble warrior's son whose village was cruelly raided and will end as talented commander of your army. The story will take place in a hand-drawn world and cover many interesting places and characters. Various warriors will join your army - archers, scouts, healers, footmen, arbalesters, and more. With 50 battles that will test your tactical skill, 26 unit types to populate the battlefield, intense boss fights, character development, and adorable graphics style, this little gem of a game can serve as a savory appetizer for some, and the main course in the strategic feast for others.

If you thought that mighty magical heroes will never return to the land of 2D, Braveland is here to prove you wrong, for only $4.99 on GOG.com.
This looks too cute for its own good. Can see the appeal though, but yeah, expecting it as either a casual smartphone game or a major title on a free Flash games site. As a paid PC title, meh, but it is just $5 as full price and, again, can certainly see the appeal, so it is an interesting addition.
Wishlisted for now. I like the theme and graphics but can wait until it's on special.
I like a good casual game from time to time and there are not many casual TBS games out there. This one looks quite decent, so I think for the low price I will take it.
Yah this actually looks pretty cool. There just can never be enough decent turn based games around.
This looks like it could be pretty fun as a mobile game, so I might give it a look when it comes to Android. As a desktop game, though, it doesn't do much for me.
Interesting. Its HoMM/KB-lite style appeals to me quite a bit. Lately I find myself foregoing the more complex (strategy) games in my library as they take a significant time investment to play, which I've been lacking lately. So yeah, this looks like it could be good bite-sized fun. The low price also makes it very enticing.
Thanks for the release, looks interesting. --> Wishlist for the time being.
Wishlisted!
When I first viewed the video, screenshots, and heard the music, it all reminded me much of Defenders Quest. The graphic look, and music in particular. So much so, I had to check to see if it was the same developer (it's not). Anyway, upon first look of DQ, I thought that, that game "looked" a bit to childish for me, but after reading great reviews, I picked it up eventually, and really enjoyed it a lot...in spite of the looks (which grew on me), and despite the fact, I wasn't a big Tower Defense. So I definitely won't judge a book by it's cover here either, and will wishlist it for now as I continue making headway through my backlog.
The game also launched on Steam but with a -20% discount. Oversight on GOG's part?

And even if it looks like a tablet game it seems there is no "pay2notwait" or a cash shop of any kind. So that redeems it.
Nice for mobile or as a flash browser game. Not a GOG title though. Oh I see...it was also just released on Steam today. That explains everything. It's also $1 cheaper there at release (might want to talk with them! hah), but it'll be bundled anyway so that doesn't really matter.
So, Heroes of Might & Magic light, with cute graphics and tablet PC compatibility, basically? For less than 4 Euro? Yeah, I think I'll bite, thanks. :)

Random fact: The total cost of my purchases from GOG today adds up to 6.66 Euro. Heh.

OMG, it's like Popcap made an RTS! It's adorable! *wishlist*
Could GOG please add that this requires Shader Model 2.0 support to the game card?

Specs are low and it would run nicely on my laptop except for this one snafu. :-(

Thanks

Edit: I sent this off to support.

Bought it, and finished it. It's a pretty charming little game, good for a quick tactical fix that you can pick up and drop quickly at your leisure. You've got 3 difficulty modes, and about 50 or so battles placed across a long map. It's mostly a linear jaunt through the campaign map with a few branching paths that lead to stops like shrines that increase stats, shops, and places to recruit more units. There are seven different unit types, and you can have up to five different types in your squad. Units are assigned a 'star' value based on their strength, and you have a 'star' point limit of 15. Your character can equip items in one of four slots (head, belt, chest, weapon) that give stat boosts to your units. The story is a complete, yet simple tale, though it ends with a 'End of Book One' message, so I guess more campaign maps or a new game will be made one day. Despite the art style, the game is not packed with jokes or puns, it takes itself a little more seriously than other games (which I personally like). All in all, not a bad game, I had a good enough time with it.
