An authentic real-time WW II experience. All expansions included.

Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology, an elaborate RTS taking you through some of the greatest campaigns of World War II in a realistic 3D environment with authentic units and equipment, is now available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

No one anticipated that the war started by the Nazi Germany invading Poland on September the 1st, 1939 would last until 1945 and consume up to 70 million human lives. Over the course of six years the most devastating conflict in the history of humankind led to extensive changes in military technology and tactics. Many historians say the war that ended in 1945 wasn't the same war that started in 1939. Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology is a game that focuses on the final campaigns of WW II in the European Eastern Front and gives you the chance to lead US Army Forces, German Wermacht, or the Soviet Army.

Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology includes the original Blitzkrieg 2 game and both of its expansions: Fall of the Reich and Liberation. In each of the many scenarios of this realistic RTS you control a pre-defined squad of historically accurate units that gain experience and acquire new skills as you progress. The game includes an encyclopedia describing each of over 250 unit-types available at your disposal. If the historical campaigns don't prove to be challenging enough for you, there's a mission editor in which you can create your own scenarios--historical or not. With the interactive, full-3D environment adding depth to the gameplay and faithful recreation of famous WW II battles, this title is a must-have for all PC armchair generals!

Squadrons of stout soldiers await you to lead them through the waning moments of war in the Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology, for only $9.99.

Aver: I loved first one, but I hated this one.

Zoltan999: Really? May I ask why? I love the 1rst one also, but haven't tried this one yet...
Often there are big delay before troops start doing what you ordered them. Also tanks (and other big units) have terrible pathfiding.

Roman5: This is definitely going in my "Incredible Value" GOGmix
You should add Beyond Divinity to your 'mix with the comment, "Some dumbass paid $1000 for it, talk about incredible."
Great to have the collection on here, I have yet to play the Blitzkrieg games but they have always been on my want list

AFAIK though many people didnt like this one :/

Hrrrmm, yeah, that can be pretty frustrating :-/. Gonna wishlist it for now, and check a few Youtubes before makin the plunge. Thanx for the feedback
There's a reason why fans of Blitzkrieg 1 pretty much hate the sequel - it's too... "arcade-y".
In the original, every single unit mattered, gained invaluable experience and rose in military rank as the game progressed. There was a deep sense of satisfaction in slowly bolstering your forces, you would eventually develop a sense of attachment to your army accompanying you throughout each campaign. More importantly, Blitzkrieg was a game of tactical approach, rewarding clever thinking and methodical execution.

While admittedly graphically impressive, Blitzkrieg 2 felt much more like your typical RTS fare of "select all your units and A-move". Gone were the "core units", losing your entire army wasn't a big deal due to the (utterly broken) "reinforcement system", mission design way too often restricted you to certain unit types ("no artillery support for you, because we say so") and to make matters worse, all units in this game moved unnaturally fast... To summarize - unlike its predecessor, B2 seemed to promote a zerg rush mentality.

It's not a bad game in its own right mind you, but I got bored with it very quickly - much of what made the original special is gone.

Oh, a few months back I was looking at ebay and Amazon and was trying to figure out if I'd buy this. I decided against it for some reason. But now, where it is here on gog, I'll definitely grab it, not yet though... Wishlisted.

Roman5: Well now, this certainly is an unexpected surprise Really pleased to see more titles from Nival here Full game, 2 expansions, 7 extras, a release from 2008 and only 10 bucks Dumbasses from Ubisoft and Activision, are you taking notes here? This is definitely going in my "Incredible Value" GOGmix
Ubisoft? I think they have released their fair share of new games on this site. Not sure about Activision...

LucasArts, Microsoft and the bunch who haven't even made a deal yet should be taking notes!

I think he's talking about pricing because of the $10+ "newish" releases that have come recently. Though I can't find any $10+ releases from Activision...

What I meant wasn't really "new games"

What I meant was: "Value for money"
+1 for the Intro/Gameplay video GOG - Many thanks.

Wishlisted for now.

I only see 3 Activision releases on your list and 2 of them include 3 games each in them.

Oh well, to each their own...
Was hoping for an older release this week, but oh well, I'm guessing people will appreciate this.
The first one is still on my "maybe" list.
It's really a surprise for me to know BK2 is on GOG. I've never played this game. I've played with the first one. I was just recently looking about WW2 games and I was wishing that this game would be on GOG. It's like a genie listened to my wish... :)

They say it's not as good as the first one. It doesn't satisfy my expectations as well judging by the look of it. But as a fan of the genre, theme, and the title, I cannot pass this game.

Can't buy it right now. So this is going to be on my wishlist immediately.
