Take back the city, pilot, or we drop the bomb!

Bionic Dues, a tactical turn-based roguelike where you command a squad of mechas to liberate a besieged city, has arrived on GOG.com for $4.99 (50% off the full price) until 9:59 AM GMT on 22nd May 2014.

No one expects a buffer overflow in a city's robotic population. For reasons unknown to us meatbags, the robotic populace of Port City has gone absolutely mad. Wrecking buildings while yelling "01010111 01000101 00100000 01000100 01001111 01001110 00100111 01010100 00100000 01000111 01001001 01010110 01000101 00100000 01000001 00100000 01000100 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01001101 01001101 01001101 01001101 01001110 00100001", terrorizing the human populace (even to the point of using individual humans for hopscotch), and drinking up all the diesel. This robotic rabble rousing is costing the Maxitrode Corp. millions of tourism dollars because being in the middle of rioting robotic rampagers dismatling a city is never on the itinerary. Your squad of Exo pilots has been called in to deal with electronic menace once and for all. You'll have to be quick about it as the corporation in charge of the city has set you up the bomb to raze the city to contain the robotic riots. Don't let the nukes drop!

Bionic Dues is a tactical, turn-based (hooray for turn-based!) roguelike where you pilot a squad of Exo pilots to liberate the besieged Port City from a robotic riot. Pilot mechs, gather loot, visit the black market for more equipment, and even discover advanced versions of Exos while taking on more than 100 missions.

Seize your copy of Bionic Dues for $4.99 (50% off the full price) until 9:59 AM GMT on 22nd May 2014, DRM-free, on GOG.com!
Seems like a decent game. Personally I'd be more excited about it showing up if it was higher up on the wishlist, but whatevs.

Too bad we didn't see an extra classic this week, though. If a bluetext sees this, could they look and see what the current situation is with Wacky Wheels?
Anyone looking for a demo of the game, try here:

Oooh, this actually looks very interesting, love me some turn-based gaming! :-) I'll wishlist it for now and see how much I have left to spend after the Spring Insomnia sale is over.

Crosmando: JudasIscariot, can you please direct me to a fantasy TBS that has as many unique races, unique spells (organized into 6 or more schools of magic), 2 different planes of existence which can switched between, unit types (86 for MoM, also with unique racial units), as many Wizards, Heroes and Champions with unique abilities and items, etc?

Maybe Age of Wonders Shadow Magic or Dominions series comes close, but I can't think of anything else.
Certainly. The Fall From Heaven mod for Civilisation 4, and its modmods, are well made and - I think - meet your specifications. I haven't counted everything precisely, so it may not quite meet all your requirements, but it surpasses it in others. For instance, there are...several actual races, but more importantly there are about 40 civilisations (each of which plays as differently as races in MoM, even if they're the same species). There are about 8 schools of magic, and if you play the originally-named Master of Mana modmod I understand that there's quite a lot of spells in each school. There's only one plane of existence (the base Civ 4 game doesn't have the technology to implement multiple, sadly), but there are many unit types, and most of the units a civilisation can build are unique. And yes, there are plenty of heroes who can join you, generally as a result of certain actions rather than RNG and a "fame" score. There's also a tech tree, which MoM...really doesn't have.
It's a little bit funny but I've seen on Arcen Games website that they have a game named "Ascendant" for the Q3 2014. I guess thay will have to change the name :)
Well, hell. It's almost like GOG doesn't want me to EVER clear my wishlist. Imagine that. =)
Funny, the binary in that intro paragraph actually spells out "WE DON'T GIVE A DAAAAAAAAMMMMN!" in ASCII. Surprised they didn't sneak in a swear word or two, but it still made me laugh a bit.

Until I cried at how much of a nerd I must be for bothering to decode it.

That was done on purpose and, as I said earlier, I knew that it would get decoded quite quickly so that's why I didn't sneak an expletive in the binary version of the text :)
Nice release! But i already have the game on Steam so it comes too late for me... :P

IAmSinistar: Instantly bought. Roguelike. Enough said.

catpower1980: And A Valley Without Wind 1&2 too! (I already have them but I would like some gog installers)

IAmSinistar: Amen to that!
If you guys like Rogue-Likes, here's a fun sci-fi oldie called Mission: Thunderbolt that looks simple, but is quite complex and difficult as you progress: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jx7sxjvp2nw0het/TBOLT.zip

If you like it, please up-vote it on the wishlist: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/jaunttrooper_mission_thunderbolt
and email the author (megacorp@aol.com) to tell him what you think about it, and to encourage him to release it on GoG (most likely as a freebie.)

It runs fine on 32-bit Windows, and 64-bit needs to run under XP mode, and will experience some audio issues.
I'll buy this one.

Cheers mkell, will check it out and give it an upvote! "Free GOG roguelike" are three words that would be heaven together. :)

kroetenschemel: If the soundtrack - that is to say the song from the trailer - had been included, this would have been an instant-buy. Now I'll read reviews.
This may have been stated already, but Arcen Games always has the soundtrack in the game files. Normally .ogg format. It's like that for every game I own of theirs, and people who bought The Last Federation from GOG said it was like that with the gog version.

Perhaps someone who bought the gog version could could confirm it for this game also.

What is the whishlist for? I never used it.
I already own almost every game here on GOG thanks to the sales. So for me it's very assessable what I don't own. ^^
