Take back the city, pilot, or we drop the bomb!

Bionic Dues, a tactical turn-based roguelike where you command a squad of mechas to liberate a besieged city, has arrived on GOG.com for $4.99 (50% off the full price) until 9:59 AM GMT on 22nd May 2014.

No one expects a buffer overflow in a city's robotic population. For reasons unknown to us meatbags, the robotic populace of Port City has gone absolutely mad. Wrecking buildings while yelling "01010111 01000101 00100000 01000100 01001111 01001110 00100111 01010100 00100000 01000111 01001001 01010110 01000101 00100000 01000001 00100000 01000100 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01000001 01001101 01001101 01001101 01001101 01001110 00100001", terrorizing the human populace (even to the point of using individual humans for hopscotch), and drinking up all the diesel. This robotic rabble rousing is costing the Maxitrode Corp. millions of tourism dollars because being in the middle of rioting robotic rampagers dismatling a city is never on the itinerary. Your squad of Exo pilots has been called in to deal with electronic menace once and for all. You'll have to be quick about it as the corporation in charge of the city has set you up the bomb to raze the city to contain the robotic riots. Don't let the nukes drop!

Bionic Dues is a tactical, turn-based (hooray for turn-based!) roguelike where you pilot a squad of Exo pilots to liberate the besieged Port City from a robotic riot. Pilot mechs, gather loot, visit the black market for more equipment, and even discover advanced versions of Exos while taking on more than 100 missions.

Seize your copy of Bionic Dues for $4.99 (50% off the full price) until 9:59 AM GMT on 22nd May 2014, DRM-free, on GOG.com!

jamsatle: No. There are two elven races and only the dark elves have ranged magical attack. You know, the myrran plane elves with the doom bolt magicians and the nightblades/nightmares?

The high elves (on arcanus) have the longbowmen and elven lords + pegasi.

JudasIscariot: Right, sorry for the mistake :) So used to seeing High, Wood, and Dark Elves everywhere :) As you can see, I need to play MoM again for those smaller details (DE's only having the innate ranged shot) are starting to escape me :)
Warlords Battlecry series perhaps? We had quite a lot of updates and mod spotlight recently ;) And this mod does look interesting.

JudasIscariot: When and if I find one that is a worthy successor, I will :)

Crosmando: Heh, sorry for being so confrontational/argumentative, you're just doing your job, I think I'm a bit cranky tonight :/
No worries, dude :)

Maybe :) I did have to do some research for the Mod Spotlight and maybe that leaked into my perception of Master of Magic. Seriously, though, I can't believe I made such an elementary mistake when I beat the game 20+ years ago and a few months ago as well....

Screamer 4X4 didn't do it for you then? :)
Instantly bought. Roguelike. Enough said.

catpower1980: And A Valley Without Wind 1&2 too! (I already have them but I would like some gog installers)
Amen to that!
The more I look at this, the more I think I will pick it up....Just need to wait until I get home to see if I have it on Steam already...
Nothing for me will pass.
This looks cool, will probably instabuy.
Nothing for me during the Insomnia Sale, so as I am a sucker for strategy games, and even more so TBS ones, this is a grab for me.
Screamer 4x4 is one of the best classic releases recently, and thx alot for that. The game rocks !!! :D

JudasIscariot: Granted, you can put MoM on Impossible and have a challenge
Nope. Pick elves, Life magic. Incarnation, True Sight (spectral warriors can eat your dude when he's still fresh) and Planar Travel (the enchantment, not the single-use Planeshift thing). Dig in for a while, then win.

JudasIscariot: With indie games, chances are that the artist producing the soundtrack retains the rights to it so it's not that easy to distribute it along with the game :)

Geralt_of_Rivia: Might be true in general, but not in the case of Arcen Games. They do all their music in house.

You should brush up your negotiation skills since Humble Bundle gets the Arcen Games soundtracks.
Humble Bundle got the Arcen Games soundtracks. So did Indie Royale for that matter. That was a one-time promo deal. Humble doesn't even sell Arcen games (at least I can't find them, the store is awful). Arcen is very proud of Pablo Vega and his work, and selling the soundtracks separately is very clearly their conscious marketing decision. And even though Pablo *is* Arcen's composer, this doesn't actually mean Arcen as an incorporated entity automatically owns the rights to distribute the music. We don't know what their arrangement is and speculation is pointless, we only know it is compatible with the game and music distribution deals we actually see on offer.
I played this and had a great time, but it felt a bit unfinished. Reminded me of Front Mission 3 with a bunch of roguelike influences. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, but I advise playing on at least hard difficulty, if not higher.

As far as I know an expansion is coming soon that should flesh it out a bit more, surprised GOG didn't wait for that and sell the whole package.
Arcen Games ... very nice.

I hope to see the AI War series here too, now that there is a Anniversary Edition existing which gives you the maingame plus all DLCs.
Turned based, squad based tactical rogue like? Wishlisted!
Already bought a bunch of games in the insomnia sale and too tired to make an informed decision.
