The definitive virtual military experience.

Arma 2: Combined Operations, the ultimate mod-enabled first person perspective military simulation, bundled with the Operation Arrowhead expansion, is now available for 20% off on GOG.com! That's $23.99 in the release week.

HA-TTENTION recruits! Uncle Sam must be a man of great faith, because he believes that US Army can craft a pile of stinking, dirty clay into a squad of Marines that can be trusted with shooting commies and defending democracy. In fact he put me in charge of performing that small miracle. So you think you know something about modern combat, because you answered some call about duty? Or maybe you got yourself a medal for what passes as honor in those smelly backwoods you call home!? You think you know how to handle your M16s and drive your hummvees because you've done it before IN A GAME?! Well, this is no ordinary game, maggots! This is the United States Marine Corps! This is is Arma 2!

From the creators of Operation Flashpoint comes Arma 2: Combined Ops, the ultimate military simulation. The unmatched level of realism in recreating weapons, equipment, vehicles, and battlefield conditions paired with the incredible scale and detail of the virtual war theater create a gritty, believable US Marine experience. Huge single-player campaigns, massive online multiplayer, mods, and a flexible built-in mission editor guarantee weeks of captivating play. The Combined Ops edition contains the original Arma 2 game and the Operation Arrowhead expansion required to run the game's most popular modification. You know: DayZ. The one with the zombies.

Prove that you have what it takes to leave behind your casual shooters and become a US Marine in Arma 2: Combined Ops for a special price of $23.99 until Tuesday, August 28 at 10:59 AM GMT.!
DayZ incoming as well? :P
low rated
wellwellwell. kind of unexpected. no doubt the result of the current Day Z hype. everybody's trying to sell ArmA 2 copies while the hype lasts.

me, i've owned both games as well as the 2 smaller expansions since their respective launch dates. copy protection was removed long ago anyway.
Least the game features helmets, will come in handy when the "This isn't an old game" and "GOG have forgotten who they are" artillary strikes start to hit. *Ducks and takes cover behind the desk*

Anyone want to host a GOG server for DayZ then?

We all know that in reality they are not releasing Arma 2, but DayZ. ;P

Really awesome, since I thought about buying it some time now. And with a gog.com release, I think now is the time.
Cool, I asked for it some months ago on the forum. :o)
Does this release mean the automatic CD-key system is working?

They probably brought it here especially for you :P

HoMMV had automatic cd-key, as did Far Cry 2 (and probably a few others). I'd say it is working, but they haven't implemented it yet for older titles.

GOG have lost their integral.

Seriously though, good release, and the price seems to be at least on a par with the retail versions. Oddly enough, Combined Ops costs more here than the Black Edition plus Op Arrowhead separately, but that's life.

I wouldn't count on ArmA 2 remaining at this price in retail for long mind you, given that ArmA 3 is incoming (unless, of course, ArmA 3 proves to be only an incremental improvement, the DayZ commercial release proves to have very few improvements over the original).

From what I saw of it, Arma 3 (and Carrier Command: Gaea Mission as well) looked awesome at Bohemia's stand, but I didn't get to play them as Bohemia's queue management sucked and some people refused to be dragged away from the PCs.

The wishlist item is still wip and the Bohemia guys said this was necessary before ARMA II could be released.

On the game itself, as it gets overlooked often:

This game has an excellent single-player! Probably the best of any "modern military shooters" I've played so far. non-linear, immersive, interesting. You name it.

Edit: Fix'd a company mix up.

Damn... something I've got off GG DRM-free at 75% or 80% discount, before the DayZ craze. Oh well, another release slot wasted.

LOL, I tought it was a lost cause because it wasn't highly wishlisted and too "hype".
Now, GOG, bring on Far Cry 3 and Borderlands 2 DRM-free ;)
wow didnt see that one coming. Although a good game it aint for me but i welcome it to gog.
