The typing test game has gotten me thinking about GOG gifts, most notably what happens if someone either refuses the gift or or doesn't redeem it. There doesn't seem to be anything in the site FAQ about what happens if they say no.
What's in place to deal with this unusual but not impossible situation? Presumably if the recipient declines, the transaction is refunded but what happens if there's no action taken? Does the gift have to be redeemed within a certain timeframe?
I would hope the GOG staff would rectify this if they were provided with a decent explanation in the case of a mis-gifted(?proper word) certificate.
In case someone doesn't take the certificate and you don't mail it, you *should* be able to pass on the gift to someone who participates in the community sponsored game and abides by its rules.
(WOO!! Arx Fatalis is mine once again! WOO! sorry I will stop now...the joy is out of my system XD)
I think that GOG would either let you exchange it (probably), or it would let the buyer know and have your Aunt Muriel smack you with a horrible leather handbag for not accepting her gift.
I figure its probably rare enough to be dealt with on a case by case basis but I was mostly inspired by paranoia wondering what'd happen if I left a character out of the email address.
Careful with that joy, it can stain upholstery

Too late ....
i'm kidding....
My understanding from reading Support Page, would be that you get a Gift Code to send out.
If it is not claimed, you can send it out to another person (even yourself I guess) via your account page.
edit: ahh, nothing there on refunds if they are even possible.

There is no such thing as "refusing a gift". The recepient might just not redeem it in witch case nothing will happen as our gifts don't have any expiration date. You can always change the recepient if you wish. Just remember that any recepient might redeem the gift on "who's first" basis.
So presumably one could use it on himself. Can one get his money refunded if he decides he does not want to do that?
