Yay, stupid question time again. Though I feel someone justified in asking since the Search function here returned sweet FA. (In GOG's defence, it's not their place to have answer for questions about other sites in the first place.)

In a nutshell, how does one redeem a Humble Bundle key? I have done a trade with another GOGnard and received a key that looks a lot like a GOG code. Where on my Humble Bundle account do I go to enter this key and redeem the game? Because I'm frankly stumped at this point.

Thanks!

Humble pages come in this format:

Log into your Humble account. Browse onto the bundle page using above format. Select "Claim this bundle" in the top right hand corner.

There isn't a place to type in the key. It goes into the url like this:

https://www.humblebundle.com/s?key=

Just paste your key in after the key= part. Then you can claim the key to your account.
Just go to https://www.humblebundle.com/downloads?key=* where *is the key you got and claim the page if you have an account, if not just make an account and claim the page.
It should be a link instead of a key, and usually it says "gift" somewhere in the link. You could try this:

https://www.humblebundle.com/?key=(and put your key here)

maybe that way you can see that bundle page, and redeem it for yourself, but I'm not sure. I still am worried that you should have received a link, instead of a key, but maybe that key is for a Steam game, and not for a Humble Bundle.

fixed that for you
Thanks, I tried that earlier and it returned "Unknown key!". Does the key string normally look similar to a GOG key? And does the person I traded with need to send me the URL directly? Because all I have is the key sequence, and it was never sent to me as a gift purchase from Humble, just as a trade item (if that makes sense).

As Azrael suggests, you might have been given a Steam key.

The origin of my preference for GOGnard. I'm an old paper wargamer myself.

Well fudge, does that mean I have jump through DRM hoops and install a client now just to get my game? That's what I was trying to avoid with the Humble key.

Fair enough but it would still be a lower case "o" GoGnard since the site ceased to be Good Old Games and just became GoG. but now in just being picky

Ah, dinnae notice that. Thought it were still acronymonised. Thanks for the info!
Hey everyone, I am the one who traded the key to him. It was from the Dont starve early access beta, where you got two for one. I got an email from the humble store where I did "claim this page" and there I can show 2 keys each for steam and chrome. So 4 in total. The chrome keys can also be entered into the standalone version. But where can the guy who I gift the key to download this standalone version from, only from my account? Putting the keys into the humble link just returns unknown key.

I think the only way is for me to download the standalone, redeem one key and then transfer my whole humble account to IAmSinistar so that he can download the standalone from the and use the second key.

Well it looks like an explanation has come. Good luck.

Its definitely not the steam key, I sent that one now as well. But we got some sort of workaround now where I sent him the download link from the humble store for the standalone version which can be used with the chrome key. And I think he can also still tradeaway the steam key. Anyone know? That would maybe make up for the troubles.

No, you're not making sense at all. The upper-left corner says "gog.com", in all lower-case; There's "Help us improve GOG.com" in the bottom-right; The rules for creating abbreviations allow lower-case mostly for prepositions, words like "on" or "of"...
"GoG" is "Game on Girl !", an online podcast.
You can lower-case this site or upper-case it, but there isn't and never has been a reason to mix them up... aside from a knee-jerk reaction, caused by most abbreviations with "o" in them having that letter stand for "of", sometimes "on" or "or"... Similarly - I wouldn't spell "Object-Oriented Programming" as "OoP"; It just doesn't seem right.
