I bought it on Gamersgate. I don't find the download speeds to be all that bad. If they aren't that speedy just leave the computer on while you're away at work, school, or while you''re sleeping.
I see little point in waiting for a discount. At 39$ for a PC port of a 59$ console game that will include DLC that PS3 and 360 owners had to pay for, and Red Faction 1 and 2 if you pre-order, you assuredly get a great deal.
I also pre-ordered Alpha Protocol on Gamersgate, and I'll do the same with Risen, Dragon Age and Divinity II. Unless another service has a better deal for any of these games.

Guerilla's multiplayer has unlocks, from what I've read, so it's even more significant than just the learning curve.

3000 kb/s on Steam is why I would recommend it. It's the fastest way for me to download what I buy and play it in an hour, or less if it's not a very recent game.

I get around 2000 kb/s or so on Steam, but that's more to do with my awesome DSL connection rather than Steam's magical elves pushing the game fast enough.

One thing that I've been trying to tell people lately...even though you technically have to use a one time downloader/installer app to get whatever game you buy from Gamersgate, you CAN back the whole Setup up on your system after the initial download. Where-ever you've chosen to be your download directory, you'll see a folder called Gamersgate Temporary Files. Inside of that will be a sub folder with a number...in this case, your Red Faction Guerrilla files. When its done downloading, but BEFORE you go ahead and install, copy that entire numbered folder where-ever you want...now install as normal, and that copied version of the folder will retain a physical Setup files that is not tied to your Gamersgate account.
Hopefully that made a word of damn sense.

Yes it did and after reading this thread, I noticed that info on their site also, which helped push me over the edge to make an account there and give them a shot. I started up the download and the speeds didn't seem too terrible, but I needed to reboot that system back into OS X, so I'll have to try again later and see how the speed is and then make a copy of the installers. It looks like I get a free game too for making an account.
