My son is a big PS3 Gamer and just picked up this game. Worst implementation on online play ever in a game as it will not work without me having to modify my network. Never had to do this for any game.
I have a Linksys modem hooked to an eight port wired Linksys Router. Daisied off of this is a Belkin Wireless Router my son bought so he can play from his room.
I am looking for the best way to approach the issue. I am thinking to bring down the PS3 and trying it plugged in to the wired router to see if it works first. I am not a network expert. Is it possable to port forward from the wireless to the PS3 alone or is it necessary to port forward al the way to the wired router?
Any help would be great. Thanks - Lou.

I'm not an expert here, but I deal with cable modems on a daily basis... try this:
Modem -> Wireless -> 8 Port
Signal degrades through each router, so moving the wireless up might help. Also check and see if he is getting enough signal hitting his PS3. You can never go wrong in getting a Wireless N if you don't have one.

Sounds like port forwarding might need to be set up
PSN PORTS
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658
http://portforward.com/ has instructions on how to set up forwarding for most any kind of router. Most likely you'll need to add a rule to all 3 devices
The PS3 will idelaly need a static IP as well.
