Aliasalpha: The controls feel a little sluggish and horse riding is a tad unintuitive but I'm definitely enjoying it.

That's my only problem with it so far. Well, I say 'problem' but it's not that bad and something you get used to. In many ways I had problems with GTA IV's controls when I first played and soon after I couldn't fault it.
Right off the bat you get all sorts of things to do and you find yourself just playing around without even worrying about the story. Shoot a bird then you unlock a Sharpshooter challenge and have to shoot five for level one. Then it's five rabbits. Then it's five coyotes in a row without taking damage from them... and so on. Then there's all sorts of random encounters that see you exploring the countryside to complete their quests. You just get sucked into it.
It startted off feeling very different to GTA and when you play some more it starts to get familiar, but not in a "Oh, I've played this before" kind of way. It has retained its own feel so far.
The sucky thin is being at work, talking about the game on a forum and not being at home playing. I got Alan Wake at the same time but I have a feeling it'll be a while before I put that disc in my Xbox.

I DID tell you to take the day off but you were all "No, there's noone else there, the place will grind to a halt without me".
This is one of the best games I have ever played. The controls are amazing, the acting is wonderful, and it's just a blast to play! The combat is hard (but fair), and it even makes basic card games like Blackjack more fun to play! I haven't tried out multiplayer yet. Is it good?

Don't play multiplayer for a few weeks. It needs patches. And if you want to play multiplayer like in the trailer, your going to need 7 more friends. The people I played with are all idiots.
I'm loving this game as well, I've got a few minor problems with it but the game more then makes up for the couple things I don't like. Are animal pelts only useful to sell for extra cash though? same with all the other junk I'm finding?

Yeah, I've been selling them for money.
Demonic Horse
I blame all of you for bring this game to my attention. I want it. So much.
More so after watching the Dastardly achievement.. But do you get the moustache to twirl? If not, it's a deal breaker.

gyokzoli: Demonic Horse

I've always wanted a horse with hydraulics!
After watching some gameplay videos, i'm seriously hoping this game gets a PC release some time soon.

HAHAHAHA!
Game has some pretty funny glitches. I bought a newspaper, and started to read it. When I stopped reading it I saw I was about 10 miles in the air, freefalling down to my death. :<

Some articles say it's coming, though I seriously wouldn't expect it any time soon, rather at least 6+ months down the road at least.
I have been having a blast with this game. I've long since wanted an open world western since playing Outlaws back in the day and this game is to me the new bar upon which I'll judge western games but also open world games (fallout 3 still holds better in some regards, IE side missions).
The world itself feels so alive, all the wild life and things happening around you.
I was playing some last night and got a random encounter ambush, I dead-eyed 3 of the four guys but got shot up myself and was in teh red against the last guy, then suddenly a cougar pounces on him and I take both him and the cougar down.
I have to say I'm rather enjoying the chaotic murderfest that is multiplayer. GTA4's multiplayer always felt like it should have had riot cops or national guard coming down on you but RDR (which is essentially the same) feels more believable with the limited law enforcement of the wild west

Just finished a free roam session myself, and while I'm having trouble finding games with more than one person (Server issues, I'm sure), I'm still having a blast. This one guy was trying to do a side mission, but every time I got near him, he would shoot me. Eventually I finally had it and took him down. I got inside the house he was trying to raid, set up camp, and kept killing him as he came to the front door over and over. He was a great sport about it, too, and kept laughing and laughing as I pumped round after round into him. What an awesome game.
Finally bought an Xbox 360 this week, mainly because of Brütal Legend and RDR. The game so far is great. However, each and every time I play, there's this one thing that strucks me again and again...
I want to play that game with mouse and keyboard.
