I play all games with my Nostromo

Keyboard: Cherry G86 CyMotion Extreme
Cheesy name, but it's so wonderful. It is spill proof, and I'll assure you that it works! I spilled half a bottle of beer on it (accident of course) and I could use it right away. Just needed some cleaning. It is also very inexpensive. The Raptor K2 is the same board, but more expensive.
I tried the Logitech G11/G15, but they are very flimsy, frail and break easily. A LAN-buddy had his replaced thrice. One had a defect because of sweat. The z/x/c keys didn't work anymore.
The Saitek Eclipse is generally popular, but I don't see why. The keys are weak and the colour disappears after ~1/2 year of use. Did it to me and a friend, so our WASD were constantly bright. Home row keys were unreadable.
Gamepad: Belkin Nostromo N52
I can't really recommend it, but the refresh looks very promising. The N52 I bought served me well through my 2 years of WoW as a Rogue (heavily macroed) but glady, it had none of the defects I kept hearing. Software worked, scroll wheel and D-Pad were A-OK.

I've heard good things about Cherry boards in general-they're one of the few remaining mechanical keyswitch keyboard manufacturers remaining, or so it seems.
However, I haven't had the luxury of being able to type on one myself, nor have I had access to any other board with Cherry keyswitches. (I won't rule out the possibility of Alps-or-Cherry-based boards in case something happens to my Model M and I can't get another buckling-spring board.)

His room is directly under the roof, that's ~40° in summer, so I guess it'd be possible.
However, he killed a zBoard (christmas gift) before new year's. ;)
I probably should've said that apart from the weak keypress (which is a dealbreaker to me) the G15 has all the features in the world. The refresh looks very slick indeed, though I dislike the orange tone.
On topic of waterproof and bendable - a friend uses one of those for his fileserver, which is inside a case of beer (the 20 bottle european ones). The keys seem to degrade heavily, being harder to press every time he uses it.

It's a cool gadget, but well above my price range and I just don't play the kinds of games that you'd use a Falcon for that often anymore.

Reading both heavily factored in my getting a refurbed 1391401 off of eBay. I just had to know (or perhaps remember) what that buckling-spring feeling was like.
And, let me tell you, it's going to take one hell of a keyboard to pry me away from this thing or any other buckling-spring board. Maybe that upcoming Gigabyte gaming keyboard or the Das Keyboard III might do it, but I'll have to test them personally beforehand.
What would really make my day, though, is if someone made a replacement controller board that implemented USB, programmability, anti-ghosting, etc. that could easily be slipped into any existing Model M. You would get most of the features of modern gaming keyboards while still retaining the amazing key feel and general durability that way.

Flight controller/HOTAS: Saitek X52Pro
No special recommendations for or against keyboards. Mousewise, the Razor Diamonback is lovely, but I imagine it's because I have small paws for someone who stands 5'10"; I don't think it's for everyone w.r.t. fit.
I play an awful lot of Freespace and Battlefield with these.

Keyboard: MS Natural 4000
Gaming Keypad: Wolfking Warrior
Mouse: Kensington Expert Mouse (which is actually a track ball.)
Joystick: Saitek X52 Pro Flight System

Logitech is cheap for a reason. Every logitech flightstick or gamepad I've owned has died from some kind of electronics glitch in less than a year. It's unfortunate that they pretty much own the low-price flightstick market for PCs. I miss the old microsoft sidewinder line.
If you're willing to shell out for a Saitek X52 monstrosity, you'd be better off using your money to get a flightstick from CH products. The con: looks like cheap plastic crap and has no extra bells and whistles of any kind. Pro: built like a tank and the best joysticks on the market.

Well, the wife was asking for an X-Mas wish list, so I gave her the following:
Keyboard: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
Mouse: Microsoft SideWinder X5 Black USB 2000 dpi Mouse
Game pad: Microsoft C8G-00004 Xbox 360 Common Controller
As I said earlier, I don't use game pads but many recommended the Xbox controller. So I figured what the hell... give it a shot.

As some mentioned earlier, with the right configurations a PS2 DualShock 2 gamepad works quite comfortably with most games. The trick is finding a good USB converter.
I use this one. Might be discontinued from the original manufacturer though.
