Hello guys :) I am new here (shame on me for not finding gog sooner) :P I missed most of the spring sale sadly. And it seems most of the RPGs that were a part of it.

I was hoping you all could recommend which games I should check out here on gog :) Anything in the diablo 2 style (not looking for turn based games right now). Inquisitor looks good and I love the art style, but I missed it in the sale (I swear I only left for a little while) -_-

Aarklash might fit the bill. If you're looking for not-so-stellar stuff, there are games like Realms of Ancient War and Confrontation.Some oldies I can think of include Nox and Sacred Gold.

I suggest watching gameplay videos.

Inquisitor is more like Lionheart, it has movement and combat like Diablo but it's designed more like a traditional RPG. I didn't really like it, but I plan on trying it again.

On GOG, Divine Divinity, also in that Lionheart/Inquisitor area, though I haven't played it much. Sacred I hear is pretty much right in there with Diablo though, you might want to try that. Maybe Ultima 8?

As far as non-GOG games, somebody will suggest Titan Quest, for sure, so I'll toss that out there. Maybe Path of Exile and Grim Dawn? Haven't played either, but I've heard pretty good things.

Nox may suit you. I really enjoyed it back when I played it.

Torchlight.

Not on gog, but SUPER D2 is Path of Exile, a FTP. And it is FTP, not like a lot of the others.

Divine Divinity.

It's more open world though.

For a pure loot-based game like Diablo, Torchlight. Too bad we don't have Torchlight 2 which is miles better than Torchlight 1.

For story-driven action RPGs, Divine Divinity and Inquisitor. Both of them, although as action-RPGs, play differently to something like Diablo or Torchlight since the focus of a loot-based game is still the loot. Divine Divinity and Inquisitor plays more like a normal RPG. Divine Divinity is great. Inquisitor has its flaws especially with the combat and the balancing of classes at both the start and the end but you get to burn people alive on stakes (which I found disturbing) :D

Torchlight, Nox and Divine Divinity are good options.

If you want a non GOG solution Titan Quest Gold Edition is on sale on HB Store.

I've tried it recently but was disappointed by the beginning. The graphics are kinda bad (my 3D character stands out on the 2D landscape, and the corpses on the ground don't look on scale, plus the "border" of the blue-ish halo shows up as a huge rectangle on high resolutions, when i switch to the parallel world), and i don't really get the atunement thing so far...

But i'm interested in that setting, and such games sometimes have very rough, misleading, beginning (divine divinity looks like an awful game until you leave the village), so, should I insist ?...

I have torchlight 2 on steam. Overall it is a damn good game. However, while I liked it, I did not really really like it. It was a bit on the simple/base side for my tastes. More than that though-and on a rather foolish note-I simply cannot stand the graphics. I know know :p Gameplay is generally vastly more important than graphics to me. I just really do not like the cartoon style of everything.

I have heard path of exile is actually quite good, though Im always wary of F2P games, as generally I despise the business model/game design.

I will check out all the other suggestions. Im interested in both more classic RPGs as well as the more action based ones, like diablo etc.

Neverwinter Nights could be an excellent compromise. It's more balduresque than Diablo, but more diabloic than Baldur.

you should, personally I like the graphics of the game (love pre-render 2d graphics in any game) and the story is very good which is an amazing and rare thing to find in this type of games.
Like you said, divine divinity for example (a game I love) starts very slow but then gets a lot better.
Then again this is just my opinion so take it as is :P

I see there are a few divine divinity games on gog. Which one do you recommend? :)
