Ghorpm: In this video he also changed his location so I don't know. I've never played WoG, as a rule of thumb I like to play vanilla versions. I only tolerate bug fixing and hi-res patches. I don't like new contents...
Great. I changed location to US, rebooted and I still get the message. What now? :(

Nevermind. I had to change location, language and keyboard language. I wonder why they would choose to have such an unnecessary requirement.

Yeah I'm also surprised...
I never play anything on something smaller then 7".
I guess you could try Super Hexagon, that works well on a 3" Samsung, so it should run anywhere.
Using Scummvm (if you can get the games):
Sam and Max hit the Road
Day of the Tentacle
DiscWorld 1 and 2
Beneath a steel sky (FREE ON GOG!)
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Monkey Island

Using DosBox Turbo:
Ultima7 (available on GOG)

From the Amazon Appstore:
Pro Evolution Soccer 2012

From Google Play:
Worms 2: Armageddon
The Bards tale
Rayman Jungle Run

BTW: I played the above games on a 7" tablet - I'm not sure how well they can be played on a smaller screen.

I got Heroes III working on Nexus 7 1st edition wifi only but it refuses to run tutorial, campaign crashes and if you load a scenario game it also crashes. I think it's likely it will crash after a while in scenario mode too and I bet multiplayer is even worse. Still, I didn't crash for the 10 minutes or so I tried in scenario mode on a small map and no slow downs. It's a pity it doesn't work as intended as this is a perfect game to play on a tablet due to the turn-based nature.
There are lots of good games for android, alot of them listed here. But you should think more about your battery... I don't know about you but playing games on a phone drains it to the point it's not really worth it.

Wishbone: As far as I recall, Avadon was quite clearly labelled as being tablet-only (and it still is in my account), so I think you have only yourself to blame for that one.
I just bought an android bundle, then got an android device, then I couldn't play an apparently great RPG on it. I don't care where the blame lies, I was still disappointed. I thought all my bus gaming needs would be covered for a while with that one.

monkeydelarge: How is Slovakia?
Pretty nice. Pity I won't be able to stay as long as I originally wanted, though. The red wine is a lot sweeter than I'm used to (but very good), people are nice to me, and I got the chance to spend the weekend on a humor and satire festival. Can't honestly complain. Oh, and they make you pay extra on buses if you're carrying a big backpack. I find that kind of weird, but whatever, it's their country.

Thing is, I normally don't give a shit about my phone. Unless I plan to call someone or I'm expecting a call, if my battery dies then so be it. I'll take a dead battery for my phone over an hour of boredom on a bus any day.

I read a book and listen to music on my long trips... wastes time and barely any battery power. After all the point of a mobile phone is for it to be usable when you're out and about. You can't do that if you drain it on a quick bus trip.

If you want to play games on the move I personally recommend a PSP or DS. Good battery length and much better games than a android.
sorry, wrong post.

My long trips are several month long. As much as I love reading, I can't carry enough books with me, and I'd rather carry as few devices as I can. Not to mention the price of a portable console. I'm not very big on music, either. Also, since I travel alone, the amount of phonecalls I normally do are rather limited. So my use of a phone is probably not very standard, and I don't mind draining the battery on games in select occasions.

So yeah. I didn't buy the phone for gaming, but since I now have it, might as well try to make the best out of it.

P1na: I'm really disappointed Avadon doesn't seem to work on my device
The problem with Avadon is that text is very small. Even on my Nexus 7 it's hard to read. The Humble app said it's not supported with the Nexus 7, but it let me download it, and it works fine.

As for games, I bought Asphalt 8 recently (racing game), played it a little and enjoyed what I played.
RPG Machine Knight is free and can waste some time.

Well, given that you have an Android phone, you can carry as many books with you as you want, more or less. I've nearly stopped reading paper books altogether. Of course, you'll need to acquire digital versions of the books you want, and sadly ebooks are often quite expensive. Still, having 200 digital books in your pocket is certainly more practical than lugging around 200 paper books.

Yes, I play Spacechem on my phone as well, even though that is also meant for tablets.

Generally with Android games, "tablet-only" means "the GUI is too small to work properly on anything smaller than a tablet". It's not that there's actually any incompatibility.

I think a lot of tablet games could be made more phone-friendly, but most of them seem to be straight ports of games from other platforms. Making Android-specific changes to the games could make keeping them up to date more troublesome than the developer wants.

If I knew about a DRM vendor GOG-style, I might do just that.

Tor/Forge Books, Tor Books UK, Baen Ebooks, O'Reilly Ebooks, and [url=http://www.double-dragon-ebooks.com/]Double Dragon Publishing all are completely DRM-free.

There are also several others where at least part of their library is DRM-free.

(Note: I likely missed more than I included, but this is the result from a search for "DRM-free ebooks" and minimal amount of research for specific links.)
