Hmmmm. I think Nox or Alien Shooter 2 would be good choices. Or Crusader: No Regret if you haven't played the sequel.

no idea who made it

2nd picture, top right, red figure looks like it has a detached penis. Just saying.
Hollow Ground, by Aescapia? Not sure its even for sale any more and I think only the special edition, which has different physics, made it out for PCs. Its a top down arcade shooter with three character classes, different weapons and uprgrades and the typical sci fi nonsense story to handwave the monsters.
Alien Shooter 2 is really fun.

Sacred Gold is pretty good too, for a while.

kalirion: Alien Shooter 2 is really fun.
As is its cousin, Zombie Shooter 2.

Also check out a game on Steam by the name of Nation Red. It's a top-down shooter with loads of power-ups that runs on the Source engine. It's very destructive and a hell of a lot of mindless enjoyment is there to be had. There's also a new game out called Pineapple Smash Crew that has a lot of indie coverage sites buzzing. Both games are on Steam.

orcishgamer: There's another Diablo tribute named Loki that got pretty mediocre reviews, might be worth checking out. I'm not aware if it's for sale, you know what to do to demo it, then maybe find someplace selling it if you like it.
Loki is availbale on Steam, GamersGate or DRM-free on DotEmu. For the Steam version there's also a demo. (Never played it, just saying.)

Come to think of it, you can also get dead meets lead for free from Gamer's Gate.

Kuokkanen: Good shopping list so far. What can you tell me about Sacred?
Personally I enjoyed Sacred Gold more than Diablo 2. It's huge, with lot of characters to try. Enemies respawn so you can't clear an area, which kind of annoys me. It's good for grinding, though, if that is your thing.
Tapan Kaikki 4 BloodShed maybe? There's really no story or dialogue (except the "men talk with their fists" kind), though. It's been quite a few years since I played it (or maybe I played an earlier TK, I can't even remember anymore), but it was fun and especially so with friends. The music in it is really good too. It's freeware.

Kuokkanen: I'd like to play some good, old fashioned hack'n slash like Diablo, or (isometric) top-down shooter like Crusader: No Remorse. Of course I've played those two already + Take No Prisoners, Total Carnage, Shadowgrounds (WINNER!) and some others (Smash TV, Alien Breed, Assault Trooper, Threat, Expendables + crapload of less memorable...). I'd like game to have following qualities:
Real-time all the way
More fighting than dialogue
At least some dialogue and story
Player controls weapons of his main character (like in Diablo & Shadowgrounds, not like in BioWare's Baldur's Gate)
Good gameplay, overall good quality
No adware or copy protection crap

I've played demo of Titan's Quest and it is strong candidate, if I can ever find it. But is anything available right here in GOG, or somewhere else for download?

Alien Shooter 2 is really what you want man. Seriously. I've played Shadowgrounds, Take No Prisoners, Alien Breed, Expendable, and Alien Shooter 2 trumps them all. Although given how old Alien Breed is, it's really not fair to compare it to Alien Shooter 2...

I've played all the ____ Shooter games. Zombie Shooter 2 is decent, but the feel of the game is lacking. Alien Shooter 2 really does everything right. I tried to like Zombie Shooter 2 as much as I did with AS2, but I just couldn't.

If you want a good Diablo clone, I recommend Soldak Entertainment's games. I love Depths of Peril - very nice mash-up of Civilization-lite with Diablo. Din's Curse is also very fun and unique. Kivi's Underworld was eh ... forgettable.

Well, Alien Shooter 2 and Shadowgrounds are pretty different games. It's like Serious Sam and Doom 3.

Let me guess: Shadowgrounds = Doom 3?

What gave it away? :)

I have played those two games and Serious Sam too. All through, and Shadowgrounds twice.
Hello,

i think Dawn of War 2 would suit your needs. It has story, action, loot and awesome space marines killing xenos all the time. The campaign plays like an action-rpg. And you have multiplayer RTS light and the outstanding Last Stand mode.

Have a nice day.
