I just finished Cowboy Bebop and loved it, it was my first anime. Considering I liked that, what other animes should I check out?
And if you say inu yasha I will punch you in the dickhole.
Samurai Champloo is from the same team, except it's Hip hop meets Feudal Japan.
I haven't really watched Cowboy Bebop.
But my recommendation: Gungrave (at least the first half, though you can safely skip the first episode)
Black Lagoon, as I recommended in the other thread. Also, there was this topic from about a month back that should also have quite a few suggestions for you.

LOL this is almost identical to my post. Well, I HIGHLY reccomend these three to watch in order:
1. Baccano!
2. Trigun
3. Black Lagoon
4. Outlaw Star ( thats what they tell me)
5. Samurai Champloo (Only saw first episode but it was really good and was made by the same guy as Bebop. Even has a few returning voice actors for english dub.
If you like clever SF, try Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. Paranoia Agent is not bad, either.
I don't usually like anime, but i did enjoy Wolf's Rain. I think thats made by the same guy who did Cowboy Bebop too.
Paranoia Agent is amazing. Love that show. FLCL is also pretty cool as well. The only other anime I've watched is Elfen Lied, which is interesting but is slopply executed in parts. I've been needing to see Bebop but they don't seem to sell it in the UK anymore.
Cowboy Bebop and Black Lagoon. Totally.
Neon Genesis Evangelion is a good mecha anime with some psychological twists.
Last Exile is also great. I don't know what genre you'd call it, but it's got a good mix of steampunk and war themes.
As far as movies go, Grave of the Fireflies is a legendary World War II anime, although it's very sad. And the Ghost in the Shell film is also well worth watching if you value your cyberpunk.
Basilisk (my favourite) and Hellsing.
I you're looking for something a bit like cowboy bebop, samurai champloo is indeed a good bet. I HATED Evangelion and Last Exile got kind of bad in the end (especially compared with the quality of the rest of the series).
Personal recommendations (not like Cowboy Bebop at all! Probably less mature, but a lot of fun):
If you enjoy over-the-top AWESOMENESS, you should watch Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
The currently airing Fullmetal Alchemist (brotherhood) is very good, pretty much every episode is fun and exciting.
Soul Eater is also top-notch, if you can ignore the ridiculous fan-service in the first few episodes.

I second Neone Gen. And Grave of the Fireflies
Neon is seriously dep viewing later on, so if Firflies
NGE got on my nerves - in retrospective, at least. I was trying to love it 'cause everyone told me it's awesome, but... Urrrgh
